Leaning towards PSA but am open to suggestions.   Thanks

They just went out of stock but shouldn't be long ...$55. I built several and the blemishes are hard to find.   The Andersons are a little cheaper.  Pick the one that looks good to you.

PSA has blems for around that price. Anderson has them pretty cheap. Just stay away from polymer, Way to many issues I hear.

Thanks all for your input.  Am I correct in saying that PSA, Anderson, Aero are all about equal quality and I should choose best deal/ my preference for looks?

An option not yet mentioned is a Polymer80 G150 at $77 - $110 depending on where you buy it. Easy to finish with the included jig and tooling. I've shot two, one with over 1000 rnds through it. No issues as long as it's finished correctly. Currently building one for myself.

I picked up this Spikes (stripped) at a local shop here in Denver, it was $120 out the door.  Learned an interesting piece of info:  Aero Persision manufactures lowers for Spikes, PSA, Aero (obviously) and one or two others I cant remember.

Anderson lower at Cheaper Than Dirt $52. They are less than 7 miles from me and will not charge a transfer fee if I buy it from them. Which is what I will do tomorrow.

I can vouch for DOA as well, the blems you cant see a thing wrong with them and the shipping is super fast.

Well 2 problems here, you get Anderson, which used to shill this site.  And you shop at cheap and dirty.  I wouldn't do either.  We all like different things.  Your money your choice.

Also, I have several purchases from DOA, I give them a GTG wholeheartedly.

What did Anderson do? Link? I've bought two uppers and lowers of theirs from Copes. Good stuff, great price.

Anderson you can order right away. About $55. Another $55 get's you their lower parts kit that has a 6lb. trigger (I asked them).

Check with your local FFL's if you have some around. One of them may carry Anderson lower receivers.

There's your start. There isn't much out there at better prices than they have.

Google is your friend.  Used to be all over here a few years back. google anderson shill ar15.com?  maybe.  this used to be very common knowledge on this site.  Anderson would have a single digit poster come into discussion and say anybody know anything about anderson.  then another single digit post counter would come along with, oh yea anderson is great, nothing better, prices great, cant get any better.

Note I am not complaining about the quality of their product.  Never owned anderson and never will.  I am complaining of their suspect marketing tactics on this site from years back.  Yes I am a 13'er, yes I been reading this site since before 2006 at least.  All the threads would long since be archived, but I am not a fan of that sort of marketing.  Your money your choice.  Maybe somebody with some tenure will come along and verify I am not making this up.

First link I clicked on, maybe the links within are still active, I do not know

I don't know about Anderson having done any shill marketing, but if they were a new company at the time I'd guess it wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility to help get their name known a little.  I do have one of their stripped lower receivers. It's nice quality and you can't beat the price. I also bought one of their 1:8 twist barrels to finish my first carbine with and I am happy with it. I had no issues whatsoever though someone else I had talked with said his feed ramps didn't quite line up right. The ones on my barrel lined up perfectly with my PSA stripped blem upper though. (no idea where the 'blem' is supposed to be - I haven't found it.

OP is looking for a budget start - so, he'll have to get budget parts of decent quality. There aren't all that many choices out there to do that.

Go read rules.  Pay to play around here.  A pretend game with two complicit parties to get your name out there?  Again because of their prior marketing tactics I will never buy their product.  It goes farther than site loyalty, it shows ethics.  Maybe they learned and changed their ways.  Cool if they did.  My money my choice.

As far as a budget build, you can buy Aero blems for cheap.  Excellent quality.  You can buy Spikes blems pretty cheap too.  Never seen or had an issue with either brand.

Several comments on TOS about feed ramp issues and Anderson.  The posts are a couple years old though.

I have a low number of posts ... so I must be an Anderson shill.

I don't like to list what exactly I have on the internet. But I have Anderson stuff and it is good quality. It doesn't have the high end name recognition so the resale won't be high. But if you want to make a good blaster then Anderson parts work. My LGS keeps a box of Anderson lowers around. I cannot buy one on the internet and pay the FFL and come in cheaper than my LGS.
