I'm torn guys. All my buddies are running their 16 inch barrels with mid length gas systems. And I'm starting to regret not going with one myself. I'm running a 16 inch FN barrel (carbine gas system) with a lantac dragon break. The big question for all you experts...(because I'm not one and don't like to pretend to be one.) is it worth it for me to spend the money to upgrade to a barrel with a mid length gas system? I'd really like to hear your advice on whether or not you think it's worth it or not. Thanks a lot. As always, I appreciate the advice.

Barrel envy?

Does it hit what you aim at?  Does theirs do better?

Not worth it

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I like the mid length gas system for my builds, but there really isn't anything wrong with a carbine length gas system.

If it functions good, then no. However, if a 16" barrel with a mid-length gas system is something you'd really like try, maybe consider a budget build with one.
