First post, first builds, always liked doing things my self so I assumed why should guns be any different? Just waiting on my BCM CH to show up and ill be done with these two......(four more in the safe awaiting on funds to complete).

BCM complete upper with 14.5" light weight barrel pinned on A2 flash hider
Troy drop in quad rail BCM bcg w/gunfighter charging handle Bushmaster lower receiver w/DPMS parts kit (standard trigger) Magpul moe fixed rifle stock A2 grip Gear sector offset sure fire mount Surefire light Eotech w/ flip to side Eotech 3x magnifier GG&G rear buis 5.11 VTAC adjustable 2 point sling 
50 yard zero (prone position magazine supported 5 round group) 
Checking 50 yard zero after nearly 500 rounds shot at various ranges and various drills (prone position magazine supported 5 round group) 
Fairly flat shooting gun considering it has an A2 flash hider not a compensator and very light weight easy to handle. I decided not to go with a compensator because this was meant to be my number one home defense weapon and with the volume inside a home I didn't want to do anything to make it even louder. Iowa is pretty gun friendly, but we aren't allowed NFA items at this time. Here is a group I shot with 10 rounds as fast as I can within control around 2 seconds or slightly over at 7 yards. All within the circle, but slightly left of center. 
Sorry for the crappy pictures all I had with me at the range was a flip phone Overall I'm happy and it has passed my test for my home defense weapon. I've ran around 500 rounds through it using various magazines and didn't have a single hiccup. Ammo used was mostly pmc bronze 55 grain, but also some lake city m855, and hornady tap 223 75 grain.

First is a Seekins lower with a Aero upper. Has a ARPerfomance 223 Wylde barrel. Finished off with a Samson Evolution handguard which I really like. I will use one again for sure. It's a shooter so far. My first build I did totally from scratch so I was thrilled. The second is a Palmetto State lower mated up with a PSA upper I purchased complete (w/o BCG & CH). Have yet to shoot it but it feels really good in the hand. |

Still waiting on the bolt but that will be connected to a Kies NiB carrier along with a Vltor BCM Gunfighter charging handle. Upper is a Vltor MUR 1a. Barrel is a 20" Black Hole Weaponry satin finish with Target Crown unthreaded. I went with an adjustable gas block. Brand escapes me. Troy FDE Battlerail. Lower is a Noveske Gen 2 Chainsaw. Mako FDE grip. Ergo F93 8 position stock. It locks up so tight. I am 6' 6" so the longer stock was a must. Rock River Arms National Match 2-Stage trigger. Can't wait to get the bolt and finally shoot it. |
