Almost done!!

CavArms OD MKII lower, RRA LPK, LaRue BCG, Oly A1 upper, CMMG 16" lightweight midlength barrel.

just waiting on a sling and a matching set of OD handguards from Cavalry, and it'll be done. I'll weigh it next week, but seems light as the proverbial feather. balances right at the magwell.

A friend and I made an afternoon of assembling our lowers. This was a first for both of us, but it was pretty darn easy, we found.

Both are Roggio lowers, mine is the near one w/o a stock yet, filled with an RRA parts kit. His is the far one with a DMPS kit inside.

That is the "How to assemble your lower" thread in the background, BTW

its just a cheap $129 NCstar, 3x9 with drop comp and illuminated, quick dissconect. it did not do to bad when she shot it for the first yesterday. its not for comp, but she will be able to drop a coyote or a deer at 300 yards easy. she was shooting blue box balck hills 69gr, privi 69 and 75, and some fed 55gr and it all shot very well. i am going to do some special loads with 80gr and 69 and i bet she has a beautifil group

Well...here is my first ever build. I've owned in AR in the past but never built one. Just waiting on the rest of the stuff to complete it but figured I'd post a pic of what I have so far.

-Spike's Jolly Roger lower
-DPMS LPK
-Magpul trigger guard
-KNS pins
-Ambi-selector
-Spike's M4 stock w/ ST-T2 buffer
-Ergo grip
-Spike's stripped upper

Still waiting to get my barrel today (Wilson 16" M4 chrome-lined w/ 1:7 twist). Future additions will be: Spike's/Young BCG, Gas buster CH, LaRue 7" rail handguard, ARMS #40L-SP rear sight and ARMS #41-B front sight. And eventually will have an Aimpoint Comp M4 w/ Larue mount and 3X magnifier w/ Larue mount.

Once this one is done I'm gonna start working on a middy build!

Built on Wednesday night, taken to the range on Friday.

CMMG 20" 1:7 chrome-lined upper, .625" barrel, flat top
Stag lower, Fulton LPK, A1 butt stock kit.
LaRue Eotech mount (not shown, I put it on at the range), Eotech 512.
Blackhawk Swift Sling

I so think the rifle would like an optics package with some magnification - sadly there is no room for my LaRue Po'Boy setup on this thing with or without the Larue mount), since it's for an EOTech on the same plane as the optic mount. Oh well.

This is my first AR, and I couldn't be more excited to go shoot it this weekend. I still need to get an optical sight, but that will have to wait till I can afford a good one. I'm thinking EOTech, but I haven't made the decision yet.

I finally got my upper on Monday, so I've decided to name this AR "The Nordyke Carbine". I might get the right side of the lower engraved with something like:

4.20.2009
Nordyke v. King
"We conclude that the Second Amendment is
indeed incorporated against the states"

Anyway, here's the Carbine:

My first build.  For reaching out and touching...  paper.

Doublestar Lower
DPMS LPK
BCM Stock (Gen II)
Sabre Defence Upper (24" fluted bull barrel) (expensive)
Harris Bipod - Ultralight 9-13" (no swivel, no notch points)
Centerpoint Scope (cheapo)
Some dang magazine (cheapo)
Accu-wedge to make it nice and tight

The scope will probably knock off zero every time I fire it, but since I was not doing sights for this one, I needed something quick.  I'll be shopping around for a better one.
