start of my future varmint gun..first AR build and first non-bolt rifle (lots of bolt guns mostly older C&R stuff, shotguns, handguns etc, first semi-auto rifle)

here's my three, a 7.5 JSE barreled pistol, a spikes/aim surplus lw dissipator and a palmetto state stainless middy soon to be my recon/scout variant.
need to get a free floated rail and a 3x scope. maybe a stock also.

Might as well throw mine up. I have been around the forum for just over 3 months and new to ARs for the same amount of time, but definitely agree the are infectious. My first AR I have changed things up on about 3 times already, Im working on my second build, and already have two more lowers ordered.

And here's my current pistol build so far. No barrel or hanguard chosen yet but likely a LW 7.5" and ST 9" BAR. I also think im going to take the saddle off as I dont want any conflicts if I take it to a range.

I finished this build about a year ago, no jams yet except for crappy ammo. I'm also including the photo of my S&W E-series 1911 I have on lay-a-way. Might build a new fixed stock lower for this and turn it into a long range rifle, then build a new 14.5" pinned upper for this lower, build a nice CQB carbine.

Saturday night, I was getting bored and went down to the basement going through old stuff.
Then I realized there are enough parts to finish one upper, minus a few parts. So here it is... 
Every single part down to roll pin is what I had collecting dust. It needs a Rear BUIS, BCG, & CH. 20" SS 1:8 barrel taken from RRA NM rifle, which I have shot 1 MOA groups @ 100 yr & 600 yr.

The handguard is the ABArms Mod 1. https://www.abarms.com/category_s/87.htm It's very ergonomic and comfortable. It has slots all over it to attach rail sections. The only thing I don't like about it is that the top rail is 1/2" higher than the flattop receiver rail. Other than that it's awesome. |
