Very nice setups. Here's mine that got finished just last Wednesday. I built this rifle together with my gunsmith (he did the machine work). It's intended to compete in IPSC Rifle.
Details: Lower receiver: Lower receiver is a Lamar Multi-Cal (my gunsmith's own brand and the only AR15 lower made in the Netherlands) ACE-stock CAA pistol grip RRA 2-stage trigger group Arendondo enlarged magazin button Standerd rifle buffer (lightened to 89 gram) Upper receiver: Upper receiver is a milled TNW receiver Barrel is an 18" stainless bull barrel bought from Double Star (made lighter by thinning it to .650" under the handguard) JP Benny Cooley large profile Muzzle Brake Handguard Double Star BCG Double Star (lightened to 195 gram) Enlarged charge handle Double Star Gas Block Double Star (made adjustable) Scope: Redfield 2-7x33 Accu-Range Planned: red dot Docter clone side mounted behind the scope. When I bought the upper receiver, the only slick side receiver I had ever seen was the JP one. At the moment I'm checking out websites (since last Wednesday) but, I still want the shell deflector. Saw one on the Les Baer website so very likely I'll get that one and pick it up at a friend in October. The reason why the barrel has this profile is to compensate recoil when shooting fast, yet the rifle has to be light for carrying. The weight out front also helps when doing transitions from one target to the other. The most rounds that will go through the barrel in one run is 40. Then it's back to the gun rack for cooling. This upper is dedicated for IPSC Rifle where the long course has a max of 40 rounds. I also shoot Dynamic Service Rifle but for that I have a 7,62x39 upper with TNW piston system as these matches sometimes have a round count of 150 in one run with sometimes a max time of 4 minutes per run. In my mind the heavier/larger rounds are a plus because of the heavier targets instead of just paper/sometimes poppers like in IPSC rifle. You're dead on for the lightened bolt carrier. Cycles faster so, faster follow up shots and recoil becomes less because you have less mass moving back and forth. No problem with observations. I'll try to answer them as best as I can ;) Thanks! |

U.S.F.A. Lower DPMS LPK Magpul MAID, UBR & BAD VTAC 2-Point BCM 20" gov't upper BCM BCG & Gunfighter CH Chopped Bushmaster carry handle Just needs some MOE handguards, and I think I'll call it good!

Well what we have here is a temporary Chatterbox hybrid, upper half courtesy of Larue Tactical. This is the 20" Stealth with there 13.2" hand guard. This will be the exact configuration for the all Larue build. I hope to have the lower by month's end. I am going to be changing up the CB's lower configuration to accommodate the 6.5 monster I plan on creating, in the mean time this will do quite nicely.........

I stripped the green camo off, had it redipped in a brush pattern. Put a larue lo pro gas block and a Troy TRX Extreme rail, Spike's Tactical BCG, Magpul MIAD and MOE, Larue SPR-E and Trijicon TR24G. Not much else I need to do to it now. Be expecting pics this fall and winter of dead coyotes.

My first AR build. After reading through many of the posts here I decided that I would at least give the lower a shot at assembling myself.
 Lower assembly was completed a couple of weeks a go, without a hitch thanks to the wonderful how-to threads, and I just finished the full assembly on Wednesday night after the upper assembly arrived and so I am hoping to get out this weekend for it's initial break-in.

Just finished the 20" today, after having built the lower over two years ago.
The 20" is a BCM government profile upper on a Stag Arms lower I built with a DPMS LPK. The 16" is a Stag Arms upper on another Stag Arms lower with a DPMS LPK. I'll get to shoot the 20" for the first time a week from now. |

Well everyone, I'm happy to say it's finally my turn to share :) This is my first build, but so far I'm very happy with it, even though I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet. I'm still missing the flash hider, but it comes with the suppressor I want to get (YHM SS Phantom). Other than that, here she is:

My latest rig. Have had it running for the past 2 weekends with some 600 rounds down range. I think I am almost done. The Troy back up sights were a breeze to sight in. For now they are sighted in at 50 yards. Then I added an EOTech XPS2-0 and a Primary Arms 3x deluxe magnifier with a QD mount. The QD mount will be replaced with a flip to the side, shortly. I think I may change out the Ergo grip for a MagPul MIAD.
Upper: - BCM BFH 16" mid length upper receiver group - BCM BCG - BCM Gunfighter Mod 4 CH - Larue Tactical 12" FF handguard - Larue Tactical index clips . . . (Gotta love these clips. I have them on 2 of my rigs.) - Larue Tactical VTAC 2 point sling . . . (Not shown. Used for off bench/position shooting.) - Troy DOA rear sight - Troy M4 style front sight - EOTech XPS2-0 . . . (Much better that the previous EOTs. Better than Aimpoint?. . . Undecided) - Primary Arms 3x deluxe magnifier . . . (Build and quality are an 8. My first build! Thanks to everyone who contributed to the build it yourself forum! I couldn't have done it without this site's help.
Bushmaster A2 upper (left over from Bushy M4) Bushmaster 20 in. barrel (complete) and handguards Rock River Arms lower, LPK, buttstock (complete) Bravo Company BCG AIM surplus charging handle Mamba sling, M16 buttstock mag pouch (both left over from Kosovo and Iraq deployments) 
Nothing fancy, I know, but I had a hankering for an A2 style AR. It got me through basic!

I think I have been slacking in this tread.
I built this one for my son, he's just over two weeks old now.
...and I built this one for buddy at work. Shame he lives behind enemy lines.

My first AR/build. Not done, but done enough to where I can go shoot it..
Still need MOE handguards, a rail mounted light, and the MS3 sling.
