I completed this today. I'm new to AR's but I got this one at a deal its a DTI. I got a DPMS parts kit to complete it. I found the upper today at the gun show.

Built from Del-Ton Midlength kit. Rock River lower. Stock LPK. Magpul MIAD grip, CAA forward grip, Magpul MBUS rear flip up sight, YHM flip up front sight gas block, YHM 5C2 serrated flash suppressor. Magpul XTM rail covers. Daniel Defense offset tactical light mount, Surefire 6P LED illuminator.
ETA: My rifle from start to finish was about $1000 even. I highly encourage you to build your own AR.... Del-Ton makes a great kit for the money. They don't charge the full price of an upgrade part, only the difference between that and the stock one.

Looks like a 13.2" rail on a 14.5" barrel with pinned phantom. They make a 13.2" Lite rail? |

The rail is a DD Lite 12.0 (which is about 12.5") and the barrel was cut and phantom pinned at exactly 16".

I built her myself from parts I picked up here and there over the last 3 years. I waited a year on the barrel which was the last part I needed. She was fun to build and I have 2 more in process right now..One an A3 flat top that will be fitted with match barrel and another a2 which will be rifle length instead of carbine. I was lucky in getting some great deals on parts over the last few years and all will probably come in under $600 each (depending on that match barrel cost). Proper tools really helped with this build some of which I had to wait on almost as long as the barrel. I started off with 3 stripped lowers and no knowledge of AR function at all. I hope to build many more in the future. Thanks to the guides on this site, the AR-15 complete assembly guide and AGI AR-15 armorer's DVD with Robert Dunlap, I've learned quite a lot. |
