Something different... probably not everyone's taste but I like it. Normally I focus more on function than form but not as much in this case.
ADCO is awesome btw and in less than a week shortened the barrel for me to 13.25" approximately and pinned the JP brake (2.75") to make it 16" overall. Seekins billet lower CMT billet upper Young side charge bolt Faxon 300blk barrel F1 Firearms forearm Etc

Sorry for the crappy ipotato pic.
22lr build I made so my father has something to plink/ squirrel hunt with. Now he’s older he finds other things a little tough on the shoulders. Test fired it today and runs great. He wants a camo paint job on it so that will be next. Just missing a forward assist but since that will be non functional on this build it’s getting a Delrin plug instead. 
Here he is using it. 
And now it’s painted as he wants it

St.Patties day build.
I have a corned beef simmering, potatoes and cabbage in the wing. I broke out some misc parts and threw this beauty together. Sort of a mid range build, maybe $750 in parts. For years I have been convincing myself that my bolt guns got the job done and I really didn't need an AR, but the past few months the urge has gotten to be too much. So, after looking at factory offerings, I decided to build one myself and finally got all the parts together. Nothing fancy, just a basic rifle.

Adjustable gas block works well. I started with it open about 1/2 turn and opened it up 1/2 turn at a time, using 1round in the mag each time. When it would reliably function that way I locked down the adjustment screw and loaded 5 rounds in the mag and ran through those. I did that a couple of times and then screwed the suppressor on and tried a few more that way.

Newest project, assembled last night.
 SPR_parts2 by city_ofthe_south, on Flickr
 Receiver_Lapping by city_ofthe_south, on FlickrUpper: -AR Stoner Sporter (or whatever). I tried my hand at lapping the receiver on this one - fingers crossed it pays off. Barrel to receiver fit was excellent all around. -Aero phosphate BCG. -Green Mountain 18" Fluted barrel. -AR Stoner clamp on gas block (did interfer with the rail, easily fixed). But I was on Midway and the finish looked nice to go with my barrel so I went for it. Wilson tube. -Parts box flash hider and washer. -Ghost Firearms 14" rail. FDE was all that was in stock. Some burrs around the vent hole cuts but otherwise a good bargain. -SWFA fixed 10X. A 3-9x or something might have been more appropriate or more flexible, but I have another rifle that I think fills the gap so this leans more toward precision, and I think I would have sacrificed in the quality department for features at this price had I gone with something else. Lower: -Anderson Ghost receiver. -DelTon (Cedar Enterprise) LPK and 2-stage trigger. -Parts box buffer tube, end plate, castle nut, spring and buffer - all PSA I think. Probably will ultimately get an H buffer and flat wire spring. -Magpul furniture. Duracoat aerosol foliage. 8lbs, 5oz as pictured. |

All Spikes 16" upper Precision Armament M4-72 brake Geissele SSA trigger Daniel Defense FSP rail I picked up for peanuts The new blast cabinet came in handy! I'm building a couple more now, gonna try some new camo schemes.
