Wanted to try a new camo scheme on a new build. Its all Brownell's Alumahyde II (Matte Black Undercoat, Earth Brown Base, Coyote Highlights).
PSA Lower Colt upper. YHM Sights. Magpul furniture. I really dig the Magpul Fixed Carbine Stock. Burris FastFire II with an AF3 Riser (I love this combo). I think its an SWS Rail? 
The flash screwed with the color some. The actual color resembles the bottom right pic. |

I wanted to build an inexpensive M4 Carbine. Quality parts were to be used where possible. Every part would be MIL SPEC or better. Parts were to be new. I searched the internet for the best holiday prices,close-outs
and Amazon deals. I built a Carbine. Not including shipping, the parts I purchased were $322.00. I test fired the carbine with 55 and 62 grain loads. No malfunctions ******************************************* 12/23/2013- Range report. After zeroing the rifle using a bore scope, I took the rifle to our range. I had set up a Santa steel target set to 400 yards. The carbine had no problem hitting the target even in 15 MPH constant wind with open sights. 55 grain and 62 grain loads shot to darn near the same POA. |
