So Tony just sent me these images and told me explicitlynot to ask for an ETA.

I asked anyways. No reply.

Yeah. Last I talked to him he said he has the SKUs, but needs to have enough room and time for the CNCs to mill. He said for sure before Christmas, but I'm doubting that.

That looks nice, still hoping for end of the year to finish my build. If it ends up being longer I may have to settle for the existing kit.

Wow, is this really a thing? Has anyone heard anything since?

I've decided on a Superlative Arms piston kit for a 7.62x39 build I'm working on with one of Faxon's mid-length 16" barrels. I'm already assuming I'll need to ream out the gas port to increase its diameter but I'd like to help out the whole equatiion with a lighter BCG.

I've heard people enlarge the gas port diameter to .104, .110 or even .160 to make it work. Anyone have experience running one of Superlative Arms piston kits on a 7.62x39 mid-lenght barrel?

You won't need to increase gas port diameter. The 7.62x39 flame flute 16" barrel was designed for 7.62.

As for the carrier, if you do something like the BRS47 lower, then you're going to have to get the carrier milled out lightly.

I plan on doing that.

Hey, thanks for your response. I'm brand new to the forum and appreciate how active it is.

Glas to hear that. I got the non flame-fluted version, and while the gas port on that one is listed as .091 instead of .093, its not much of a difference.

I'll be using a regular lower and the c-products/asc mags, so hopefully on modifications needed.

I placed an order for a piston kit on Wednesday. I haven't gotten shipping info yet, but Tony, if you're reading this, feel free to go ahead and send me the lightweight carrier if you've got one lying around.

Do you think they'll be selling the lightweigh carrier by itself?

I know Adams arms had a trade in program, like trade existing carrier + $40 for lightweight one

Really liked the Adams arms kit, only reason switched to superlative kits was

Lighter gas block for weight distribution and clamp on style block.

Hope they offer a similar trade deal for the carrier

Emailed Tony from Superlative Arms. He gave me a possible "early 2017" deadline. However, doubting it will come until this time next year. Best advice I have for everyone who wants one is to simply ask/email because of supply on demand. Don't whine though, manufacturers hate that.

This is based on the deadlines he's already given me (in April he said 3-4 months).
