I am sorry if i posted this in the wrong sub. I didnt know where exactly to post and i also wanted some people to see. I bought my arak brand new for $1200 and some change. I absolutely love the upper but i got an 80% ar-10 lower for christmas and decided I wanted to complete it and i could use a few extra bucks toward the ar-10 and since the arak upper just sits in my safe i told a buddy I would sell it to him since he wanted it. The upper is meticulously cared for and has a maximum of 300 rounds through it and i asked him if 800 was fair. He said he has buddies who say market value is at 500. Am I asking too much or am i being low balled?

See he was saying they are readily available now and a used upper is only worth 500. Which i can't seem to find online

Low-balled hard core. Just because they're readily available now doesn't mean a $1200 upper (new) is suddenly only worth $500. He's low-balling and possibly trolling you.

I felt like 400 dollars down would have been a good reduction in price since it looks new. I am going to hold onto the upper. Thanks for the input

$500 is low balling, I'd give you $600 at that point. $800 is a good deal, the lowest I've seen one was on armslist for $900. I bought one recently on the EE for $1,000 but it was because it was the ambi upper and I haven't found one of those for sale used before.

Yea my model is the new ambidextrous ejection port and i could not find any on sale. Im confused as to what source he found that showed this upper for 500

Yeah $800 is a great deal for yours. If I didn't already have one I would snatch yours up.

Place it up on the equipment exchange and ask a $1,000 and go from there.

Lowest brand new ARAK upper I can find online is $1,074 (with $75 coupon) from http://www.guncalifornia.com/arak-21-upper-receiver.html/ So $800 for a very good condition ARAK upper is reasonable, but since the ARAK is not very popular yet, it'll be harder to sell. But $500 is lowballing

500 is stealing, if you listed that upper on the equipment exchange for 800 it would be gone in no time. You should cup check your friend extra hard next time you see him.
