Jason promised these seven months ago. It could be ages before we see one. Machining a standard Syrac carrier into a low mass version is pretty much out of the question as far as cost if you have to pay a machine shop to do it. And FINDING a machine shop who can do it would be an issue I imagine.

But what about machining an indentation into the face of the striker area of a low mass AA-Voodoo piston? Why not? It would work perfectly with the Syrac gas block and rod wouldn't it? The indentation would have to be very precise and the depth perfect in order to attain the same clearance specs that the Syrac needs to function reliably. The indentation would have to be polished too. Slow speed machining might be needed as to not change the heat treatment of the carrier. IDK.

Just a thought. Any machinists out there? How hard would it be to get this nice perfect rounded indentation machined? The best photo I can find is the first screen on their web page here:
http://www.syracordnance.com/

Just how hard would it be to replicate that? I am not a machinist. I am hoping it could be cost a cost worthy possibility. God knows when a Syrac low mass carrier will ever surface.
