Like the title says, what is the difference between POF triggers and Timney triggers?

Pof is made by timney
pof uses rubber inserts to put tension on the unit when installed
tmney uses double set screws for tension
Pof is 41/2 pull
timney has 3 and 4pull also skeletonized trigger
timney trigger has sharp edges
pof has nice beveled edges on trigger
I have both a 4lb timney and the pof and by feel can not tell any difference in pull or reset
the pof i have is the standerd trigger shape ,they also make one that is moved forward 3/16 that has an odd shape that is supposed to offer repeated finger placement
pof comes with kns pins.

Does the Timney come with the KNS pins?  Mine POF just dropped right in with no drama whatosoever.    I have heard (but have no experience with) that if you blow a primer you stand a tiny chance of having the primer get lodged somewhere in the guts of the housing, rendering your weapon out of battery until you can clear it.  Maybe you can drop the mag and shake it out, maybe you have to separate the upper and lower.  My only thoughts are that you might want to carry two (minimum) of the itty-bitty allen wrenches in case you have to disassemble your lower.

POF uses drop in trigger groups?

The Timney is a better quality unit with adjustability.  Further the Timney is more "sealed" and much harder for a blown primer to fall into the trigger assembly.

I have no experience with the current pof triggers, however I have used the first generation triggers.  The older design had "sharp" edges (honestly a non issue with gloves or man hands) and was inconsistent in trigger pull weight.  Further the older design is more "open" in its housing and debris or blown primers could more easily find a way into this space to cause troubles.  The rubber bumpers can easily fall off and disappear when installing or servicing the trigger.

KNS pins are kind of a moot point on the Timney.  The Timney uses double set screws for tension and set in the fire control pocket of the lower receiver.

The pof unit requires the use of KNS pins.  With that requirement the utility of the pof trigger goes down since it is now unusable in a number of AR lower designs that the KNS pins will not fit the outside of the receiver.  This is not the fault of KNS, but rather the different types of AR lowers with odd external shapes and designs.

I have an early skeletonized Timney in my 3gun rifle.  This trigger has been excellent through multiple rifles over the past 6+ years.  No issues at all for me.

I no longer have any pof products.

Thanks for the info everyone! I asked because I want to upgrade the trigger on one of my LWRC's and those are the two triggers that I have narrowed it down to because I like the idea of a self contained drop in unit. Will the POF trigger part #00457 work for an LWRC!

Joe Bob has the pof for 170.00 plus free ship thats where i bought mine, only saw that the trigger does not fit dpms ar10.
IF you like single stage and can spend some extra cash check out the wilson ttu its 270.00 but does everything just a little better than the pof or timney imho.
As for fitting your rifle to be sure id call .

My POF P308 has the standard 4 pound trigger unit and i absolutely love it. I have a Timney in my Sig and there's really not much difference between the 2. Yes, KNS pins might be a "downfall" for other rifles but i don't plan on putting it into anything else so a moot point for me.
