Alex, I thought you were going to GIVE that Upper Half to me. Just Kidding, but if you ever think about letting it go, PLEASE GIVE ME A CALL FIRST.. It's Beautiful, and I'm a little green with envy. Will the Colt 3X9 Scope fit on it??? |

How did you get these? It looks like the rifle that was in the thread
A few weeks ago . I forgot his name but he acquired it and others From a retired colt employee ? |
|
Fantastic looking rifle and a rare find. I believe the Colt 656 utilized the 3x9 Realist "Camputer" scope. If you look on the bottom of the mount, you will see a hole (sometimes has a screw in it). The rings were a little offset too. There are a couple of these scopes listed on Ebay. Check them out.

Is the upper a large hole? Yes it is a large hole upper. Anybody ideas about the scope mount? It was made to work with the factory realist ART mount . Are those correct for the 656? This picture is different from those. Sorry I know little about the realist scopes lol |

Are those correct for the 656? This picture is different from those. Sorry I know little about the realist scopes lol Yes, and no. All depends on your ocd . The correct scope is the realist 3x9 computer scope. There have been three On eBay for years for 700-ish. And for that price they will stay there for more years to come. I spent literally every day for almost a year On multiple sights to try and find mine... At a good price. I finally placed wanted to by adds And eventually it paid off. If anybody is considering building a 656 I recommend taking that route. The e bay scopes are also wrong, at least in s few details . The scopes on the Knights guns are Very late production ARTs, right before they transitioned to the leatherwood ART2. So the Knights scopes are Black not the bronze-ish color and they have the ART sticker on the side , which was something common on the ART2 |

That's what I'd do. I place five adds- M14 forum, sniper hide , arfcom
And..., I forget the other two. But arfcom paid off. It didn't take long, I was able to get one from a member that had been sitting on top of his M14 for thirty years barely used. Not long after that ( a year and half ago now) I had a chance to buy two more at 250$ ea. And recently almost bought another for 125$. Downside is finding one like what's on the Knights gun...... Probably about as rare as finding a factory 656 upper from a retired colt Exec. But you never know. |

Thanks for all the info! Anybody know how many of these uppers were made?

Anybody else known to have 656's? I'm trying to get numbers and value on it haha

Not that I've ever heard of. I know of a couple of reproductions by forum members But never a real factory upper. For that reason... You could ask whatever you wanted I'd think View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
