Good clean lookin rifle, but assuming it's all repro, a little pricey.

It sure does look nice, I agree the price seems a bit steep for all repo parts

It's a nice looking gun, but there's no value in it as a build, nothing is original and the barrel is new. It's worth about a grand maybe...

A complete build has almost no value to me, it takes all of the reward out of it.

That seems to be why most people part out the guns.  The parts are worth more than the whole.  At least ones with original parts.
I'd get more for my 601 parted out than whole.

I tell this to everyone looking to make as much cash as possible selling original builds. You will always a. Make more money parting it out. and b. Sell everything so much quicker. There are prolly thousandss of Retro builders now and all have builds at various stages and might need a single part, another may need an upper, etc, etc. I know many guys are getting into the Retro scene daily, I get dozens of IM's daily asking me questions on where to find parts and have sold several hundred A1 Pistol Grips since November, the last 2-3 listings all 40-50 Grips in each listing Sold in a week or less.

Sheesh..makes me wonder what mine is worth with almost completely original parts minus the lower, mag button, and trigger/hammer.

I emailed the guy about the rifle. He says no colt parts on the rifle. He also says the barrel is one that came out of a kit 5 or so years ago so I don't know if that's a colt barrel or just an RTI extra that they do. Either way not worth it lol

I won't opine on the value of that rifle, but will note that it helps answers a question that was asked here recently--is it possible to build a retro rifle with all modern parts?
That one seems to come pretty close to doing so and may represent the future of retro fandom.  For those who can't justify sinking $3-4k into original parts for a 601 clone, it's nice to know there are options.

that's a really nice rifle!!!  I just wonder  why ,with all of the effort he put into that build, why he did not do the 601 recess under the portdoor so that it would line up with the lower receiver.
