Just got two of these today. Brand new in military packaging. Specilized Armament is getting $75 for these. Well worth the $4 price

Image shows A1 style and they call it an M16A1 buttplate but the description says A2 style.  I hope it is really A1, I ordered 10 of them.

It's a A1 and looks like the picture. My two says 1982 production on it.
I ordered two more yesterday to stash for a rainy day.

With all the kits out there saying "cracked" buttplates, is this all that's needed to fix it?  My assumption is you can reuse the trap door and parts?

Yes, the door assembly will lift right out of the plastic buttplate after removal of the top and bottom buttplate screws.

(Caution) When you remove the upper screw, this will allow your stock to move rearward and you must keep an eye on the spring and detent that is held in the lower receiver at the front of the stock on the ejection side of the receiver. To avoid this totally, just do not let the stock move away from the lower receiver and you will be fine.)

There are a couple of different style trap doors. Early ones are difficult to open as there isn't much of a tit to catch your fingernail on. The A2 trap doors are easier to open. I have a few of each in my parts bin
