Sorry if this post is out of line, most folks over at the ammo board shoot that heavy stuff.

Federal XM193 325.99/1m to my door from Palmetto: here

So it is loose in the box, but otherwise the same as 50 X 20 rd boxes?

That is a great deal!

I just ordered a case. 32 cents a round (after shipping cost) is hard to turn down.

Same but limit 2 cases

Ordered one. What should we be looking for since this is loose ammo? Should it be all the same headstamp?

Same as the Federal XM193 you would buy in the 20-rd. box. It is just loose packed instead of individual 20-rd. boxes. I have bought quite a bit of this over the years.

I think I'll order a case.  Oh, wait, New York.

Never mind.

Its new ammo, just not in boxes.  I had bought a couple thousand rounds before the panics.  Still have a little.  Good outfit to deal with.

I am also assuming this brass will be good for reloading!  I recently acquired a Rockchucker supreme that I want to put to use!

I reload mine.  I got a chamfer tool to clean the crimp out of the primer pocket. 21.5 grains of IMR 4198, CCI #41 primer, and a M193 55 grain FMJBT.

Got mine today. All head-stamped LC 14.  Cases look like new, but a little bit of tarnish.

Going to the range soon...

I need to quit buying ammo every time I go to wal fart and start buying in bulk. Ive been getting the 120 round boxes of xm193 or the 150 round boxes of m855 every time I go there for groceries or whatever @ 50c a round. I need to start buying in bulk. Ive had bad experiences in the past buying online though lol

Shipping bumped per round figure up to about .325 cents. Only complaint was the processing of the order took like more than a week.

Like I said, the cases appear to be new, a little tarnished, can't find any that look used. Some of the headstamps are a little fuzzy, and the rims are a tiny bit wavy looking. Also not sure the primers are all exactly the same. Still going through the box.

I bought a little 25 acp a few years ago at a local gun shop, everyone here was out of the ammo at that time so I ordered some online (said it was in stock) it didnt ship for 2 months. So I had this brand new handgun and not 1 round for it for 2 months lol, havent ordered ammo online since. But luckily now I know where to order from

2 Months is a long time to wait without knowing up front.

Been going through it, and in spite of the fuzzy headstamps it looks good.  A lot of the visual issues may just be different lighting and my aging eyes.

Anyone else get a box of this?

If I didn't have to drop money on my pickup in the last couple of weeks (new lift pump, new windshield, new steering box), this is where that money would be going. Diesel life.

VERY worth it. Wouldn't trade either of my Cummins trucks for the world.

I received mine yesterday.  Also, LC 14 headstamps.  Also, appear to be tarnished.  I'm not sure that they just aren't dirty, though.  My hands were black after loading them all onto stripper clips.  I did find a few that were banged up, but I am also pretty sure that I counted 1,015 total in my box.  So, the five or so that were damaged were in addition to the 1,000 that were paid for anyway.  All in all, I am happy and wish I had money for more!  :)

Tarnished or simply dark from annealing? Military brass isn't polished and shiny like civilian ammunition.

I'm not talking about the annealing.  This stuff is actually dirty.  My hands blackened from handling it.  I was in the army for eight years.  I've seen plenty Lake City 5.56.  This stuff is nice, but it is a bit dirty.  I attribute it to the bulk packaging.

Roger, Roger. Just wanted a little clarification. I have friends who are not familiar with G.I. brass and think it's "dirty". Eight is about three more years than I could stand, it's great being a PFC (private F'ing civilian) again. I still hang all my shirts left sleeve out but finally stopped rolling my socks .

Some of mine the brass is tarnished, dull and has dark specks. My hands came out grimy after loading some mags and bandoleers. But like FTE said, could be the bulk packaging or sitting around in a huge ass pile before packaging. The little paper boxes would probably keep them cleaner. I am not complaining. It is pretty darn good deal all else being good.

BTW, anyone know where to get proper 140 round repack kits, cheap? I have the cloth bandos, just out of cardboard and strippers.

This is the only place I've seen the twenty round cardboard inserts lately. They are open bottom not closed like the old style.
