The Institute of Military Technology would like to show you a .50 cal shot at 45,000 frames per second.

I'd like to see the end stage of the round striking a series of targets, each one different than the last.
Well done.

Well that was cool. But I was hoping to see the rounds flight and/or impact. Maybe on the next one? Lol

The Weapon Recoil Simulated Shoulder (WRSS) is a precision fixture for evaluating weapon recoil. The WRSS is unique because it mimics the human range of motion not only by simulating the pitch and yaw of a shoulder fired weapon, but by replicating the involuntary response of the human body to vibration. Furthermore, the WRSS evaluates weapon fire across a spectrum of frequencies to identify variations in weapon fire that are imperceptible to the human, but influence performance of the human and mounted accessories such as optics. With the WRSS, a complete picture of a weapon's recoil characteristics can be seen and understood.

I was hoping to see a 50BMG bullet at 50,000 Feet per second.

Talk about high energy impact, for the 1/2 second before it melts....

This.  45k feet per second would be awesome - it'd look like a laser beam as the bullet disintegrated into a heavy plasma from ram-air effect heating.

That is very interesting. You sure you guys don't need a good electrician? Or a guy to sweep up the shavings in the shop? Damn I admire KAC's work. Between handling that M110 the other day and the recent posts by you and coldblue, I am beginning to understand why your stuff brings such a premium. Thank you for sharing.
