Finished up my cheapo parts/parts bins pistol.  Built on a crummy blemished Anderson lower.  Fit and finish isn't very good but it functions well.  The only thing I splurged on was the gas-block front sight.

Just got me a new little upper.
Receiver is Colt; barrel is Daniel Defense 10.3

Turned it quickly in a sort of Mk18 Mod 0 (looking) clone also thanks to the great Surefire Warden

Build this a few months back and have been meaning to post it. Took it to the range a few times, definitely turned some heads because it's a small 25yd indoor range. Loud as hell and I love it. Still need to get a tape switch and some optics. We'll see how the black friday sales look.

My first 2 builds...  I've primarily messed with the AK platform for the past 13 years. These 2  AR pistols are the result of the past 2 months of "hunting and gathering", of all necessary parts.  They are a mixture of  PSA, MEGA, ANDERSON, COLT, CERRO, SEEKINS, MAGPUL, WMD, AXTS parts and others.  I'm really happy with the AR platform, hopefully I'll continue along this path, for many many years to come..

I've had mine setup as an SBR for the longest time.  While that's cool and all, it isn't legal in FL to conceal carry them, so I swapped for one of my pistol lowers, threw the law gen 3 adapter and the new blade stabilizer and now I can legally conceal it.

Though the case is fairly large, it does fit in a backpack nicely.

The only thing it can't do is have a vert grip because unfortunately with the 9 inch barrel it comes an inch or so shy of the 26inch OAL...

Thanks brah.

That is black velcro straps. It's the same one you can see on the rail(s) on both pistols.

It is (generally) distributed with ATPIALs (the PEQ, IR units) and it was meant for various applications including, keeping the wires down on the rails from snagging.

Because of the pistols intended use (i.e., as a pistol rather than as rifles, using the braces on the forearms) I have added these same straps to tie the brace to my arm and make it more stable.

So, tying it the way you saw it - in those loops -  it's a way to store the strap on the Shockwave blade itself when I need it to brace the pistol by tying it to my forearm.

Those straps aren't even long enough to go around your arm and the brace are they?  I've got about 30 of them laying around here and there and I only remember them being like 6 or 7 inches long or something.

EDIT: yes there is no way this strap is going around my arm lol.

Attached from the lower loop they do on my arms; I am not a big guy though.

But I hope you see the purpose: these are velcro straps that, somewhat, need to be there.

These are not stocks; these are 'blades', 'pistol stabilizers' for forearms.

In case a LEO stopped me, it's one other little bit of evidence - for me - (as well as the ATF letter that comes with the blade itself) to show that I do use them for their intended purpose.

Right? ;)

Thanks,

So far so good, the dot is crisp, the glass is every bit as clear as my Aimpoint.  I haven't had the chance to zero at the range so I cannot comment on that aspect, but overall I couldn't be more pleased.

8.5" 300blk

ETA:  I can't wait to swap the sig brace for a shockwave and the quad rail for something lighter.  This current setup is heavy.

Thanks! Should have posted the specs (it's in the 9mm porn thread too)

Qc10 - Upper, lower (Colt mag) and barrel (10.5")
PSA ramped bolt
12" MI M Lok rail
Sig brace/Slash 9Q buffer
Taccon 3MR
KX5 flash suppressor
Stream light TLR

EOTech is going away soon. Going to run a Sparc 2 until my 300blk is done then save up and put a Aimpoint micro or Trij MRO on this.
