That's also from thordson which they call a keyed pistol buffer tube. Same as a mil spec tube minus the slots cut into it. Thanks for the kind words. I'm getting really antsy on completing this pistol! I will look into that rail thanks for the input

Just finished putting this together
Matrix forged lower Anderson sport upper (no forward assist) Unknown 223 Wylde barrel (bought off EE for $70 shipped) Troy 7.2" Alpha rail KAK flash can A guy I work with just built a pistol with a 9" Alpha rail and he wants to swap for the shorter rail. When he gets here tomorrow we're going to swap, I don't like the look of the exposed flash can. The one thing that's driving me crazy is the length of the buffer tube. From the start of the receiver it is 8.5" long (not including the QD sling mount) and 8" from the castle nut. This seems extremely long to me. Reading the description of the buffer kit online I saw this "This assembly includes a built in grip spacer so any Sig Tac Braces will fit 1" further back on the Buffer Assembly". I have no intention of running the Sig Brace. Can I order a shorter tube from somewhere while keeping the same buffer and spring or should I order a whole kit so that I don't screw up the length/buffer weight/spring weight? When I was at the gun show this weekend I saw pistol buffer tubes that didn't look more than 5" long and i was tempted to pick one up but wasn't sure how it would cycle. Thoughts?
