Haven't been able to get to the range yet.
But if it's anything like my motorcycle exhaust it will get warm to the touch and that's it.

I'm curious how many others have done this. The new brace is about 3/4 shorter and they didn't resubmit it, just curious

Thanks.

Thats a Primary Arms RDS using a KZ Aimpoint mount. Same bolt pattern. The mount is see-thru as well.

Thats a LM 603/A1 upper I snag'd at a gunshow back in the early 80s.

I like the old school stuff as well...I'm old-ish too.

Second pistol is just about complete:

Anderson lower and upper with an ALG ACT FCG and BAD-ASS selector, the rest of the LPK out of the spare parts box
Green Mountain 7.5" chrome lined barrel with a Geissele gas block and KAK flash can
ALG EMR KeyMod 8" with Noveske NSR covers
AIM NiB BCG
BCM Mod 5 CH
RRA RE and IWC QD end plate
H-K 416/417 sights (no RDS on this one, so I don't care about cowitness)
Magpul MOE SL PG

I was trying to do this one on the cheap since it's just meant to be a range toy.  I do have a foam RE cover on hand but want to see how I like it bare first.  I'm not going to be shouldering it, I've found I do just fine with cheekweld and sling tension.

I must know what is between the receiver and SB15 here!

EDIT:  I figured it out:  http://blackcreekprecision.com/sb15-brace-adapter.html

That is really nice and looks like it could solve all the problems with my stretched out SB15 sliding around and rotating on me!  Wish it wasn't $120 bucks.... that could buy a lot of ammo.

This can be done if you are on a budget, you really need to pay attention to specials, and deals posted on Slickguns, EE, and randomly check all sources of whatever it is you are looking for. It just takes a little footwork.

Dont get out much do you?! If your AR pistol has an OAL of MORE than 26" you can add a VFG without an AOW stamp. At more than 26" it's not considered by the ATF to be concealable and by adding a VFG it changes the classification from a pistol to a "Firearm". This horse has been absolutely beat to death in the pistol section. There's tons of pics of similar setups, whole threads devoted to the subject and at least every other day someone like you pops in this thread to say something like "you better have a stamp for that!" I'm sure some other guys will be along to post a "not this shit again" or a "face palm" meme. So ill save that for them.
