SAA Upper, 7.5" barrel.  PSA Pistol Lower.  DD Lite 7.0 rail.  Bushnell TRS-25.  Nothing fancy, but lots of fun.  I just got the chance to pull the trigger on it yesterday.

Here's my first build:  MAS upper, Anderson lower, Aim NiB BCG, Umbrella Corp Grip, Seekins red mag release, ALG QMS trigger, Guntec 4/15 buffer tube, PA microdot and Sig brace.  I took advantage of all of the 4th of July specials and made my budget.

Nice setup, are you running 11.5 or 10.5?  I like the simple, elegant layout.

I bought it as a complete unit from MAS Defense, 5.56 mm 10.5" bbl with a 1/9 twist, here's the link:

I took it to the range and put 10 magazines through it without a hitch.  I also like the flash can at the muzzle, it really directed the sound away from the shooter.

"Thumper" upper buildsheet

Palmetto Upper
MI GenII T series 7" handguard
Surefire ladder covers
KAC covers along bottom (fit great up against the GearSector hand stop)
Ice Arms 6.75" stainless barrel (pistol gas)
Ice Arms Low Profile gas block (barrel dimpled to match block)
YHM QD flas hider
BCM Gunfighter CH
AIM M16 BCG
DD fixed sight set
Gear Sector hand stop
Bushnell TRS25 and 3/8" riser

I plan on going with a 7.5" soon though because it's not grouping all that great at 50yrds.  It was built as a fun gun/ range toy.  I did use it on a trip across 4 states that all allowed pistols ARs, so no need to use my SBR and send the ATF a note (fuckers).

Originally it was built as a shorter clone to my 10.5" upper, but the rail had to be modifed to fit the YHM QD FH and Simplistic Shooting Solutions shield.  Pic of the upper before I had a pistol lower to put it on along with my SBR.  PRO went to another rifle and the KAC micros are waiting for another upper build.

Current config as pictured earlier

There are some bad ass pistols in here.

This is my first pistol build, it's in 300 Blackout with an 8" barrel. I love it so far...may have to put together a matching 5.56 upper.

Appreciate it. And I did the camo myself with Rustoleum and Krylon. Painted the entire thing in an FDE-ish color first, then came back and sprayed through some mesh material with a reddish brown and dark grey until I got it where I wanted it. I added some more of the FDE color on top in places where it got too dark. I'm a sucker for when it wears in nice and good on a rifle.

Good paint job.  How did you prepare it, use brake cleaner or something different to remove all the oil so the paint would stick?  Did you air cure or put some heat on it?  Thanks

I actually did it by just lightly pressing down on the nozzle and letting the paint come out in small blobs. It was sort of an accidental discovery as I was trying to add a bit more color to a small section without going overboard, but I thought it ended up looking good enough to try in a few other places as well. There's another member here who has a rifle with a light gray or dark earth type color as the base with black speckles on it. I can't remember his username, but it looks fantastic.

Thanks. I wiped everything down with some Isopropyl alcohol, then made sure that the surface was all clean and that there was no oil inside the receivers that might come out before the paint had cured. I also hit everything with a few light coats of adhesion promoter before I started putting on the actual paint. For the cure process I let it dry for a bit while hanging in the garage, then once it was fairly firm I hung it up outside in the sun for a few hours. I normally let everything sit for at least another day or two to really firm up before messing with it.

This is my first pistol build, it's in 300 Blackout with an 8" barrel. I love it so far...may have to put together a matching 5.56 upper.

Nice pistol! Question... How did you go about attaching your sling to the sig brace?

Thanks man. I used the molded Blue Force Gear sling socket and ran the strap from the brace through it until I got it to hold it snugly. I got the idea from another member somewhere here.

Here's the BFG socket

And here's a closer look at mine.

To be honest, with the sling attached the swivel sticks out a little far for my liking in its current position. I've been going back and forth between this and a single-point sling attached to the end plate and haven't decided which one I like better, though I think I'll stick with this setup.

Pretty simple for me. This is just a sling around the brace strap itself. Works awesome.

Or a loop of 550. Works for me as well.

Mrboots and hipower, thank you! I like both those methods. I was looking at the proctor sling (link below) but cant figure out how it would be able to "tie" into the sig brace. Im sure I can figure out a quick way but I want it to be real secure.

That looks like it would work great too. I think I may have to try that myself.

My pistol has developed a personality disorder.  7.5" .223 "flamethrower" and 8.5" 300BLK with a Specwar 762 suppressor on the way.

I upgraded the .223 to 300BLK, but then I had the barrel leftover and it was just too much fun to let sit in the parts bin.

That's a badass shotty!  I love the paint job.  Does that require a tax stamp or anything of the sort?  Google tells me a shotgun must have an 18" barrel and be 27" of overall length.

That's what I'm doing with mine. The upper will be back this week from ADCO using a 604 upper with one of Brownells 11.5 inch light weight chrome lined barrels that I've had for around 3 years.
The letter from the BATF on the SB-15 brace finally pushed me over the edge to have this pistol done.
