This was my first time doing anything like this, but I took my time and the baffles came out pretty tight and close to perfectly centered. Now I've read through the other big thread here and hit a couple other forums, and I might go with different baffle setup on the next one. This was simple and effective though, and a nice way to dip my toe in while I'm waiting for the commercial cans to come through. The formed freeze plugs is just the best way to go for form1's! Looks like you did them really nice! Are you running any spacers in there? I am putting the same muzzle brake on a couple guns, so I set up the blast chamber spacer to leave the first baffle about 3/8" from the end of the brake. After that I did small spacers for the next 2 baffles at about the same 3/8". Then stacked a bunch of baffles up, and one more spacer at the end so I could get everything locked in tight. Left that final spacer about 3/32" too long, because I read that the internals would compress a tiny bit (which they did during the course of putting a hundred or so rounds through it yesterday). Once I'm confident everything is settled I'll rocksett the end cap and that'll be that. Then I just need a week or two when I know I won't shoot so I can get everything painted. |

Yee-haw. Got my PSA Daily Deal Geissele Upper re-done the way I like:
- Anderson Lightweight Upper with no FA - Wojtek Weaponry .750 Adjustable Gas Block (reused the G gas tube) - VG6 Gamma with CAGE device - PSA NiB BCG - Raptor-LT Ambi Charging Handle - Holosun 510C (Red) Pistol lower is from another build while I ponder on whether I want another SBA3 or wait til SBA4 comes out. Not a huge fan of the B5 grip right now... I usually use the Magpul K grips, but I found a deal where someone was selling the B5 grips for $5 each so I grabbed a few because "salad days". |

@trevorhiller what model EOTech is that? I don’t recall them making a fde model without the quick detach
@Vuong0916 It is the XPS 2-0 in FDE. Got it from Optics Planet on sale for about $430. I actually didn't realize that it didn't come with a QD lever when I ordered it and was kind of annoyed, but the thumb screw is decent and locks on tightly. I contemplated sending it back, but figured not worth it.
IMO a QD lever is nice but honestly just adds extra weight. Mine is just attached via the allen head screw. Should the sight die for some reason in the middle of really needing the firearm, pop up the flip sights and continue to aim right through the dead glass. No need to remove the sight quickly. When time permitted later on then you can remove to send it off, get it fixed etc............

He's even further into "should be fine" territory because literally no one in the real world cares. The ATF isn't kicking your door down over a picture on ArfCom. If dude gets busted with a kilo of coke, then the DEA and ATF will no doubt reinterpret whatever letters we base "should be fine" on as needed to add charges. |

I just finished this little beauty this morning. I found the 8.5" psa 556 upper on the ee (minus bcg) for $180 and had everything else in the desk, on the safe, or in the safe, including the primary arms red dot. It was my last stripped lower; a spikes spartan and spikes LPK. I'm pretty happy with it. Nice and compact. I'll end up doing an sba3 or a pdw later but I'm pretty happy with it. Attached File

So I'm going crazy being concerned about if I should put an ERGO hand stop on my first pistol build? Especially since its in the 10.5in barrel, 26in plus overall length neighborhood. Sorry if its a newbie question.

Really like this build. I'm doing my first one and I have some good friends warning me not to use the ERGO hand stop because it can be considered a grip. Did you hear any similar nonsense?

I have a 10.3 RIS II and the OAL is over 26", so you should be fine.
