6.5 Grendel 12" suppressed with Ultra 7 and Ultra 5 Titanium cans.

The NightForce NX8 1-8x24 is awesome on the Grendel pistol.

I went with the freeze plug method from esstac's big thread in the Form 1 forum, and did them on a drill press.  This was my first time doing anything like this, but I took my time and the baffles came out pretty tight and close to perfectly centered.

Now I've read through the other big thread here and hit a couple other forums, and I might go with different baffle setup on the next one. This was simple and effective though, and a nice way to dip my toe in while I'm waiting for the commercial cans to come through.
Thanks @TGE

@boerseun thanks, and I'm really happy with the noise reduction. So far so good.  And it was a cheap experiment too.

I am putting the same muzzle brake on a couple guns, so I set up the blast chamber spacer to leave the first baffle about 3/8" from the end of the brake. After that I did small spacers for the next 2 baffles at about the same 3/8".  Then stacked a bunch of baffles up, and one more spacer at the end so I could get everything locked in tight. Left that final spacer about 3/32" too long, because I read that the internals would compress a tiny bit (which they did during the course of putting a hundred or so rounds through it yesterday).

Once I'm confident everything is settled I'll rocksett the end cap and that'll be that. Then I just need a week or two when I know I won't shoot so I can get everything painted.

God, I've seen a couple of your Grendels posted up now, and you're pushing me towards the edge. I just got into a new caliber with the 300blk and now I want a Grendel.

Beautiful guns.

Yee-haw.  Got my PSA Daily Deal Geissele Upper re-done the way I like:

- Anderson Lightweight Upper with no FA
- Wojtek Weaponry .750 Adjustable Gas Block (reused the G gas tube)
- VG6 Gamma with CAGE device
- PSA NiB BCG
- Raptor-LT Ambi Charging Handle
- Holosun 510C (Red)

Pistol lower is from another build while I ponder on whether I want another SBA3 or wait til SBA4 comes out.  Not a huge fan of the B5 grip right now...  I usually use the Magpul K grips, but I found a deal where someone was selling the B5 grips for $5 each so I grabbed a few because "salad days".

I watched the MAC (Military Arms Channel) YouTube video on a version of this gun. The 100yrd "keyhole monster" as they called it. Some type of straight rifling for the barrel. Not a tack driver, but if you live in the Communist states it gets you back in the game.

The Reformation is classified as a "Firearm" so he had a VFG and Magpul stock on it too. And of coarse a binary trigger..

@trevorhiller what model EOTech is that? I don’t recall them making a fde model without the quick detach

@Vuong0916 It is the XPS 2-0 in FDE. Got it from Optics Planet on sale for about $430. I actually didn't realize that it didn't come with a QD lever when I ordered it and was kind of annoyed, but the thumb screw is decent and locks on tightly. I contemplated sending it back, but figured not worth it.

IMO a QD lever is nice but honestly just adds extra weight.  Mine is just attached via the allen head screw.  Should the sight die for some reason in the middle of really needing the firearm, pop up the flip sights and continue to aim right through the dead glass.  No need to remove the sight quickly.  When time permitted later on then you can remove to send it off, get it fixed etc............

Should be fine as long as OAL is over 26 inches from the end of the muzzle threads to the end of the brace extended.  With a 10.3 barrel he's probably somewhere around 26.5 inches.  It's further into "should be fine" territory as the Bravo Company stubby VFG isn't 90 degrees off the handguard, so it isn't truly "vertical".

He's even further into "should be fine" territory because literally no one in the real world cares.  The ATF isn't kicking your door down over a picture on ArfCom.  If dude gets busted with a kilo of coke, then the DEA and ATF will no doubt reinterpret whatever letters we base "should be fine" on as needed to add charges.

I just finished this little beauty this morning. I found the 8.5" psa 556 upper on the ee (minus bcg) for $180 and had everything else in the desk, on the safe, or in the safe, including the primary arms red dot. It was my last stripped lower; a spikes spartan and spikes LPK.  I'm pretty happy with it.  Nice and compact.  I'll end up doing an sba3 or a pdw later but I'm pretty happy with it. All of this ^. OAL is actually well over 27" now with the Law tactical folder I added now, but it is was even over 26" without it.

Rock on brother, good job.
Once the SBA4 hits the market later in the year tempted to build myself one similar.
Same feeling here, although I'm still mixed on the sba3 vs sba4 for the retro builds as the SBA3 has more of the slim look and the lever on the outside of the stock unlike the sba4 m4/moe mix.

Also on a side note does anyone know if 10.3-10.5 a2s/c7s actually existed in the 80-90s or was it just 11.5s

Here’s my new 10.5” pistol.
Specs:
PSA upper
10.5” barrel
Mlok rail from PSA
BCM gunfighter charging handle
Aimsurplus gold nitride bcg
Holosun 503gu
Fortis cowitness mount
Magpul BUIS
Streamlight ProTac HL-X with tape switch
Magpul mlok handstop kit
SBA3 brace
Aero lower
Magpul MOE grip

I haven’t gotten to test and zero yet. Hopefully this week. This is my first pistol and I’m amazed at the weight difference between this one and my 16”. Props to PSA on fast shipping.

My 10.5 PSA build. First time building. Was fairly fun.
PSA shipped super fast on the upper/lower parts. The PSA lower I ordered isn't shipping till today so I got impatient and got a poverty pony at the LGS.

Just need to find some funds for a red dot and some irons or may just take my magpul BUIS off my mpx for now.

So I'm going crazy being concerned about if I should put an ERGO hand stop on my first pistol build?  Especially since its in the 10.5in barrel, 26in plus overall length neighborhood. Sorry if its a newbie question.

Really like this build. I'm doing my first one and I have some good friends warning  me not to use the ERGO hand stop because it can be considered a grip. Did you hear any similar nonsense?

Not familiar with that exact model, but if it's a handstop it's not a grip.

Pic thread: Plano case is heavy and sturdy, have been using it for about 8 months now and I'd buy another.

This backpack

Kydex from here

These velcro strips

550 cord from Walmart for the zipper pulls.

I'm into for $51 not including the sticker from Amazon.

I made a template from a piece of cardboard then used it to cut out the kydex, marked off the spots for the velcro.  I used a Dremel with an end mill to cut everything.
