Hello all,
With the help of those before that have posted here on this forum and reading a lot, I was able to get my AR pistol all completed. It went together much easier then I had imagined and overall I am very please. There are still some upgrades to do, but she's a beauty. Pic1 http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/2631/hpim1602u.jpg http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/2631/hpim1602u.jpg Pic2 http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/8518/hpim1603.jpg http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/8518/hpim1603.jpg Pic3 http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/6387/hpim1604.jpg http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/6387/hpim1604.jpg Pic4 http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/1478/hpim1605.jpg http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/1478/hpim1605.jpg All ready been to the range and its very accurate @ 50+ yards (limit of the range) all shots where in a 2-3inch circle most likely due to me and getting used to the firearm, aside from some jams of FTE, I had no FTF that I was getting with the ammo I had at the time, which I will not be using again. (Tula .223 Russian ammo), which is very dirty, aside from that it ran very nice, and hot after 150+ rounds at the range. I was one of the loudest and biggest fireballs around, aside from automatic guns some where doing. I would not recommend steal cased rounds in this type of gun/ barrel type. This was the cause of the FTE problems I was having, I will be switching to a brass PMC type ammo or better. More expensive in the end, but should be no more FTE problems and better experince in the end, of not having to clear the jams. (yes the gun was oiled and lube well, all load bearing surfaces where slippy) Parts details are: (YHM themed parts, not planned, just ended up this way in the end.) - YHM lower receiver - local store pickup - J&S 7.5" PISTOL UPPER 9630DX - I recommend this barrel to anyone, it is very nice. http://jsgunparts.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=62_1&products_id=881 • 1x8 twist rate • Stainless Steel barrel • Yankee Hill Diamond Series Free Float 4 Rail handgaurd • both 5.56 and .233 ammo caliber - Wild barrel • Dragon's Breath Muzzle Break (this is very nice, and it breaths fire too!!) - DPMS LRPK - MagBuis sight - 2 ProMags - black and OD colors - Spikes pistol buffer tube w/foam (had to trim some off to give room for the charging handle to operate) - One-Point Battle Sling - And a cheap red dot sight from leapers - 1x zoom, but both green and red dots, very nice and very accurate once sighted. - And a cheap laser sight, more for flare then anything :).. got to have the terminator type laser. Most of my parts came from jsgunparts.com, spikestactical.com, or cheaperthendirt.com. For around $900 it was a very interesting experience, and great first gun build and really not that hard to do, I was surprised. Things to come in the future are, some plastic rail handgaurds that some have, and in the end, a better sighting system. However a EOTech is just so dam expensive... so that will be some time. Comment welcome, and thanks for reading, Darwin |
