Looks nice.

How much barrel (if any) sticks out of your handguard when it has a bare muzzle? Asking because it looks like your cookie cutter fits perfect. I have a 7.5" barrel that I may consider  that same break for, if my setup is right.

Thanks in advance.

Very nice. Obviously you also think the SB Tacticl PDW brace is good to go. I am trying to talk myself out of a second one:)

I really like that brace, so much that I had to snag a second one when they were still in stock.

I had to cut about 1/4" off the wrench flats of the brake to make it a custom fit. I put pics in another thread here in the pistol section

It turned out great. I was considering a Cookie Cutter too, but it got too complicated trying to calculate how it would work and what rail I should buy.
It was tricky enough figuring out what size rail to get just to partially/properly cover the PWS CQB comp I ultimately chose to use.

Good job.

Thanks, the sight is a DI Optical FC-1. I did a thread on it over in the optics section.

Correction: I contributed in cbecker333's thread.

Got this in trade this weekend.  PSA 8.5 with KAK flash can and Shockwave brace.  Added a Magpul SL grip and trigger guard, GGG rear sight, and MI front sight.  It's my first AR pistol.

MVB Industries makes it. The button is to hold the buffer back in the tube so you can take the upper off the lower. Normally the front of their buffer indexes into the back of your carrier.

How do you like the cheek rests vs the Shockwave? I've got Shockwave braces with pistol tubes on all my AR pistols, before the Shockwave came out I was just running foam over the tube.
I wanted to try a cheek riser on a standard buffer tube, just curious if people with both like one more than the other.

The rest provides more surface...more comfortable and natural on cheek than the Shockwave.  Shockwave is lighter overall but they both work well enough on the cheek.  One thing I've noted since I started shooting these pistols is that (imo) it feels easier and more natural to line up your sights/optics on your cheek instead of having to crank your face down to the side as you would on a regular rifle.  Just obviously not as stable as a rifle platform.  But, I must admit I have a thick neck and fat cheeks.

The AFG I do not like. There has to be something better!
The sights need dialed in, and it needs a sling of some kind.

Thanks, I'm in the process of acquiring the parts to build a 7 or 8" 300 pistol.  I'm leaning towards that rail just wish i could find a deal on one.  Really just need a LPK, barrel and rail at this point.  This thread has been so helpful in giving me an idea of what I want.

I bought a builders kit from CMMG for my LPK. Why pay for a gross milspec trigger and A2 grip when you're not going to use it IMO. My AP barrel is well made and accurate as can be. Just be aware that you will need to drill it for the gas block.

Thanks, it's a Polymer80 Phoenix2. Lower, jig, and bits for $59. Very easy to finish on my $30 Craigslist drill press. I did have to do tweaking to get it to work right. The gap for the bolt catch was too big, needed to shim it with a piece of soup can. May have been my fault but the trigger, sear pins kept wanting to walk out so I needed ones that screw together. Magwell was super tight, had to sand it a bit. However after that it works well, and the extra material around the buffer tube gives me confidence it'll hold up to 9mm blowback, along with a stronger buffer spring and a soft rubber buffer bumper.

Thank you! That was a big work. I've never tried a polymer receiver because I was always concearned about their durability. Let us know how it works after some thousand rounds.

My latest build and first post. Been creeping around for years!

Waiting to see a Aimpount T2 random price drop to pick it up but currently not featured are my Magpul Pro sights which have been mounted.

Hope you guys and gals enjoy it. Let me know what you think.

It's only had about 150 rounds through it now but I'm not worried about durability. Recoil was tamer than expected, I don't think the lower is taking much more punishment than a DI gun would. There's a video on Youtube of someone putting 50 rounds of Beowulf through it so I think it'll be fine.

I like the fatter ones, I don't get the trend to the real skinny ones.

Nice pistol!

First ever pistol - never planned on building one.  Project started when I was randomly offered a dirt cheap deal for the barrel on this build - need to get sights and shoot it.
