Bit of a make over.
Got rid of the Matrix rail for a Faxon. Luckily the crowfoot I purchased for the matrix barrel nut was a perfect fit for the Faxon. Also decided to try the PWS Triad out, I'll go shooting next paycheck. Sadly I sold my MRO and Sig Sights, but ended up going with DD Fixed with a Blitzkrieg front. The rest of the cash from that sale is going toward an Oculus rift.
Installing the PWS triad was annoying since it uses shims instead of a crush washer. Maybe it was just me. Faxon Rail looks good though the finish is a bit dry. No big deal though, so was the Matrix handguard. Sorta funny it started as a budget build, but over time I got rid of all the budget parts. Anderson Slick Side-> Aero Precision Upper Anderson lower-> Spartan 15 Billet Lower Matrix Arms Rail-> Faxon Kak Barrel-> Ballistic Advantage 11.5" A2 Flash Hider/Roush Flasher hider-> PWS Triad |

Small update:
Cheap bastard build. Ares Armor 9" barrel PSA Upper and BCG ARFiveSeven Lower Rock River LPK Shockwave and tube from Josh Cheapie Barska red dot from the boy's .22 (I've got high cheekbones. I can see through it. ;) ) Lancer mag (black opaque) No room on the barrel for carbine length handguards and a faux gas block, so I used a .750 ID shaft collar from Amazon as my handguard cap stop. Single setscrew. It works!

First AR pistol I've built. This is an uber cheap EE and local gun shop parts bin see if I like it kinda build.
Spikes lower Anderson LPK JP trigger and hammer springs Strike Industries ambi safety, CH, and mag release. Anderson BCG MAGPUL K+ grip CMMG pistol buffer Shockwave PSA 10.5 upper Knock off flash hider Random 10" keymod rail my local shop had in a box Lowpro gas block to replace the A2 Primary Arms 30mm red dot in an aimpoint mount. Won't get to shoot it til later this week but like it a lot already, cool looking little gun.

It is essentially the stock AR that they offered known as the MI-T556...only differences are their factory guns come with AR Gold triggers and mine has an MBT-2S that I won from the Christmas giveaway a couple years ago and I put a JP SCS in mine over a standard buffer and spring. Supposedly in 2017 they will be offering all of their billet parts stripped so you will be able to buy stripped lowers again as well as their stripped upper/handguard combo--as you can see from the pictures the upper and rail go together and one would not look right without the other. |

Thanks! I just got the last part in the mail yesterday and slapped it together once I got it so haven't had an opportunity to shoot it. There is no doubt it will throw out a fireball and be noisy i think you can't avoid it with a short gun. Hope I'm wrong though. My 11.5 556 sbr shoots fireballs even with my aac mini suppressor on it. I'll let you know about accuracy once I get out and give it a work out. I have sbrs but I really wanted a pistol so I could take it out of state without telling big brother and 300 blk because it performs much better than a 556 with a short barrel. Also wanted it to be light weight, easily shot 1 handed. It weighs about the same as a MP5k
handguard is SLR ultra light 7". Has a SLR mini 30 cal comp as well as SLR adjustable gas so its pretty much guaranteed to run. SLR is my fav company for gear, really like how their stuff looks. |
