Phone + pictures after dark = super grainy awesome.  (this wasn't in Maryland, before anyone goes crazy about unlawful hunting )

Blackout Doe by Armed Ferret, on Flickr

Was using subsonic 208 ELD Match, so it was a CNS shot.  She went about 4 feet....straight down.  Definitely not a "proper" hunting bullet, but for CNS it does the job fine.  Sure wish Lehighs weren't so damn expensive.  Gonna start working up a supersonic load this week.

Supers from the Rainier Select blackout tube were straight up awful.  3-4 MOA, 125s and 168BHTPs.  The 168s were closing up to a little under 2" at 19.5 grains of CFE black, but still not the greatest.  I think there's a bit more room there; a couple primers looked like they were just starting to flatten but no ejector swipes or anything.  Hornady's book max is 20, so I may do another bout of .2-grain increments approaching it.

Still have some H110 and Lil Gun to also try of course, so all is not lost yet.  If I can get my hands on some 110 barnes I'll give those a whirl as well.

Is that a PTS233 on that sweet rifle? I have mine on my 16 inch 300BO. Thinking of switching it over to my 10 inch BO that has my sandman-s on it.

Well now I have to stay sitting down for a few minutes, I don't think the females in my office would appreciate my current status.

Friend has a wildlife control contract for some gubmint-owned (high-fenced) land nearby, so we did some wildlife control (and stocked the freezers).  In addition to several does and a couple toothless gray-faced bucks taken with .308 and 7-08, this gal (and an unphotographed button buck) fell to 125 NBT's over 20.5 grains of Lil Gun. (a number of foxes, woodchucks, and even a couple coyotes have been controlled in the last few months as well)  Thwacked her good in both lungs (total soup when i dressed her out) and she made it about 20 yards before she flopped.  The button buck was remarkably similar in that both lungs were liquified, and he made it a full 30 yards.  We'll see how it does on hogs next month; spending 5 weeks in Texas.

I posted in another thread how I am looking for an Ar10 or similar. I found a DB15, which is a 300. Can anyone tell me why DB are so cheap and overall differences between .308 and 300?

Diamondback is just another brand, most of their parts are purchased from other suppliers and assembled.
You are comparing an AR15 to an AR10, small frame vs large frame.  AR10's tend to be more expensive.

As far as the rounds go, 308 is a full sized rifle cartridge.
300blk is basically a .223 case necked up and chopped for a larger .30 caliber bullet. It was made to give the option for heavier bullets in the smaller AR15 frame size, using AR15 mags and bolts.  It suppresses very well when using heavy subsonic loads and the lighter bullets can be very effective from a shorter barrel compared to .223.

308 on the left, 300blk on the right

Straight pull, yes. No gas tube and the gas block is on backwards to cover the port.

Sweet setup. What suppressor is that? Long sucker. Bet it stupid quiet. Have a sandman-s on my 10 inch 300BO. Hearing protection not needed shooting supers or subs. I went with the Hornady 190 subs also. Just wish Hornady would release just the bullets for sale for us reloaders. I called about that and was told not in the foreseeable future.

form 1 can.  i bought a couple of boxes of that 190gr ammo, it does not like straight magpul 20s at all for some reason (loaded mags won't drop at all, let alone drop free, and they're a bitch to load).  GI 20s drop free just fine though, but the first round i chambered nosedived into the feed ramp.  it wasn't as quiet as i was hoping for and rusty, the SOT who did the machining, said the barrel is way too short.

10" is at the long end of a 300BLK barrel.  Doesn't sound like he's familiar with the caliber.

What's the straight-pull company?  I'm very interested in a similar setup

I purchased magpul 300BO mags for the 190 grain subs. Never an issue. AR15 mags work fine for my 110 grain reloads.

Thanks, my next upper will wear a PRI GenIII as well but w/ a 12.5" 6.5G tube.
13.5lbs loaded as pictured - thinking of getting an AEM5 punched to .30 to save inches & ounces, the .30 12th is a beast & way more can than needed. Spinning on my .22 12th makes a very noticeable difference, if only the hole was a bit bigger.

Yeah I have.  I'm using an ejector rod that goes through the gas key and through the hole in the barrel nut like a gas tube.  The ejector end buts up against the threaded plug on the front of the receiver with the spring riding on the ejector pin.

Nice, is it strong enough to strip a round without being too hard to rack? Or is it just there to hold the bolt locked?

Let me know what you find.  I've tried a few different springs on my bufferless setups.
The one in my avatar started with a Rem 7400 action spring, then found out that the JP SCC springs fit.
My .45 uses dual springs from an AR180B.  Both of these setups have the spring under the handguard.

For my next one, I wanted to do something like the RRA PDS but shorter, which is a bit of a challenge without a flatwire spring.
I think I can get it to work out with a single RFB action spring, but if you find a flatwire spring, off the shelf, that can run shorter as a single spring I'd be all over it.

From the conversation you habe going with RDTCU I'm guessing you're trying to get a captured spring in there in place of where the charging handle would normally live?
