K, here's the new setup. A little heavy with the flashlight, but that only stays on while it's indoors. Just weighed everything - 9.6lbs...

For you eagle-eyed readers, yes, the flip-to-side mount is mounted backwards. I'm a lefty. Having the flashlight positioned there makes it real easy to turn on momentarily with my thumb, too.
