Is it legal to put a VFG on an AR pistol? IIRC, I believe someone got clarification stating the the Magpul AFG was okay but, not a full on Vertical forgrip. Please correct me if I'm wrong. thanks.

If it's longer than 26", the addition of a VFG is good to go. At that point its not a pistol, but a "firearm"

you heard correct. there are (i guess cosmetic) tabs on the bottom about 1/8" that had to be dremel'd flat. the bcm size 4 is kind of small for a 308, i should have spent the extra $50 and got a raptor

Hey all new member here. Just thought I'd share my first AR.

She's a Stag Model 2. Picked it up around 2 months ago. So far I've added a Samson Evo 11" Rail, YHM low profile gas block, BCM Gunfighter Ambi Charge Handle, Surefire G2, Magpul MBUS, and a Vortex Sparc II.

Next one I'm going to build myself now that I'm familiar with the platform.

Nice first post!

Stag makes one great AR and the parts from them are all just the same with quality, too.

These are all home builds, the two AR15's are all Stag minus the obvious here an there. The bottom was a birthday gift from a member here, so I'm going to do a nice one in 1/8 .223 Wylde.

My 3-gun centerfire rifle and 2-gun rimfire rifles
My centerfire rifle is a BCM 18inch SS barreled rifle with a JP hand guard and Skull Tactical muzzle break. For optic's I use a Bushnell 1x4 AR Optics FFP AR-223 Riflescope with a Larue mount Backup irons are some knockoff I got on Amazon but they work and cost way less that the name brand ones. The lower is a pre-ban Bushmaster with a JP trigger, Magpul bolt release, Odin mag release and Magpul/Ergo stock pistol grip. Randall from AR15 Barrels re-profiled the barrel and sandblasted it for that ultra-cool flat look.
The JPNC22 features the same JP handguard and backup sights. The optics are Vortex Crossfire 1x4which I really like and the lower is a Spikes with a CMC trigger, Magpul bolt release, Odin mag release and ACE/Ergo stock pistol grip. Haven't really shot the BCM yet but taking it out this weekend to break in.

The latest iteration of my primary AR-15.

- Daniel Defense M4 V7
- Vortex StrikeFire GEN 1 (rotated 90* to improve left eye FOV)
- Fenix LD10 + VTAC light mount
- Stark Industries SE-1 (with spare AA & spare CR2 in the grip plug)
- BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle
- Magpul MBUS Front & Rear sights
- Impact Weapons Components QD Rotation Limited Sling MOUNT-N-SLOT (1.75 OD)
- Multicam Urban ERT Sling
- Magpul Windowless GEN2 PMAG

I like the Stark SE-1 (even tho it is a bit weird).  My rifle had a large gap between the grip and the trigger guard that would irritate the top of my middle finger.  This happened with a stock A2 grip and the Magpul MOE grip.

Built up an Anderson lower today for this middy upper I've had laying around for about a yr. After building it up, I didn't like .750 gas port. Still don't. My only scoped AR. All the rest are RDS and BUIS.

PSA upper
PSA BCG
PSA LPK and UPK
MOE grip, stock, trigger guard
JP enhanced 3.5lb and Wolf fire control spring combo. =about 5lb
Del-ton LW 16" middy barrel kit (.725)
Del-ton CH
M223 2x8

Don't panic that the pistol has no strap. Its already back on it. I had just painted the brace to go with the new green carbine hand guard.

The brace strap from http://triplestitchtactical.net/ worked awesome. Love the D ring. Couldn't figure why I had extra length of strap so the velcro doesn't overlap at the end(hence the high tech zipties)...then I remembered I'd trimmed the wings to the brace back about 1.5"s, so its now smaller then it was from the factory. Duh.

Now back to the other lower for my friends 11.5" light weight pistol, I'm building for him. Using a BCM complete upper. I was going to build up something using a J&T LW barrel, but its hard to argue with the BCM upper deals right now.
