Im not sure I can discern much difference between it and a 14.5.

Just joined the forum. Nothing fancy, but I've built two 18" AR15s, one for myself and one for my dad. Collecting parts now for my .300 blackout pistol using upper/lower from Lone Star Armory and BA Henson 10.3" barrel.

Don't get me wrong, I love the modern stuff too. But the carbines back from when guys were cobbling stuff together and taping it to the hand guard (just to see if it would work) have a certain appeal.

It sporadic as well, maybe to avoid detection but it's happened to me twice now.
