I like the FDE, don't get me wrong....but in my environment, having FDE does not blend as well as Black....so it is more of a preference thing than anything else....it also made adding other items more complicated since the upper is black and the rail is FDE....so my Surefire X300 would look odd, my VG's (that I have are black) would look odd, and even the iron sights I have would look off..... No big deal though....just get both . |

For someone who has a SOPMOD stock and an NT4, what's the OAL of the rifle? I just got a new soft case today that's ~27" in length on the inside, and I was curious if the rifle would fit without separating halves.
|
|
|
I just can't believe you found either in stock....

Does anybody know if the KAC RIS is available? Kac doesnt show it on their website, and I haven't found anyplace else that seems to be selling them either...

Question for the MK18 guys and I hope it's not off topic, but have you guys had any problems with dwell time with your 10.3/10.5 uppers?
If so what did you do to fix it? Also how has the military gotten their MK18's to run well? Thanks and if it's off topic don't answer.

Ken from SAW recommends a H3 buffer with the Colt barrels he sells. I'm assuming Colt's gas ports are spec'd properly. I also have to assume that is with running military M855 or M193. |

I have an O ring around the extractor spring but I really don't need it. |

My LMT upper has never failed, but my old 10.5" upper didn't either.

I'm running an H buffer (came in my BCM lower from BCM), 10.3" DD barrel, Spike's Tactical adjustable micro gas block, and mostly Tula ammo.
I cranked the gas block all the way shut, and opened it up half a turn and fired a round. Kept opening it 1/2 turn until it would cycle. Then I opened it another 1/2 turn and tested if it would lock back on PMAGs, Lancer mags, and USGI mags. I think I ended up opening it up another 1/2 turn or full turn, can't remember. Approx. 600 rounds later of Tula and PMC bronze without an issue (other than my gas block setscrews coming loose, locktite fixed that). When I get my SDN-6 and M4-2000, I'll play with the gas some more and get it really dialed in for suppressed and unsuppressed use. |

PSA has 10.5" upper in stock if anybody is looking for one still.

I need a 10.5" upper for my eod mk18 but refuse to buy from them following the train wreck that was my last order. |

With that said, I got a REAL Colt 10.3" barrel for $300 and the Colt upper for free (bought a 6920 upper/barrel and sold barrel from price I paid for both) and ended up with a Colt upper/barrel for $300. |

they are FN Hammer forged barrels. Very good barrel btw. Stripped barrels used to be $199

Old PSA price was $399 complete.. Very good price, but that was when they were ordering 5000 units in a batch.

Panic buying leads to this. Inflated prices for everything. Look at what AIM did to the price on the complete DD Mk 18 uppers. Nothing stays in stock more then ten minutes, people who carry guns for a living can't get parts and ammo. Who needs gun laws. Just collapse the market and there is nothing to sell.

Snagged an LMT 10.5" urg from BCM this morning, now my EOD mk18 will move forward. Best part about it is it cost less than the PSA.

I just scooped up a brand new tan 553 from the EE today, I'm happy. I love my Aimpoint M4 and was torn between going with the T1 and 553. I know the pros and cons of both and have been torn on this. I decided with the 553 and if I determine I don't like it as much as an Aimpoint, I'll just sell it off and grab a T1; no harm done. I have play money but not as much as many guys on here. If I did, I would probably get an Elcan Specter. Especially since the dark earth/brownish ones are a limited run and won't be around for long -- that's always a grabber for me and pulls me in like waving blow in front of a hooker. |
