AR I built for my son prior to his 2nd deployment to assholistan when he was a lowly E4 with the 82 ABD. Im sure he'll want something better now that he's an E6. ( I'm a proud father)
Gen II after deployment and CeraKote, I CeraKoted it while he was away and changed optics.

Gen I, prior to deployment and CeraKote

Praise God he recently got home safe from Iraq when Obama ended the 82 AB's deployment early. Only thing I'm glad that jack ass has done yet.

Awesome! Love the pattern- I just did a few fixed blade knives like that and they look great.  I have to tell y'all this:  My 17 year old son was looking over my shoulder and said " Man, if anybody would ever think of attacking the U.S., they should check out this website first." I busted out laughing. Kid's got a point.

That's exactly how the Founding Fathers wanted it. One can tell a stark contrast between them and treasonous bastards in Washington today that generally doesn't trust an armed populace which is further testament that the Founders knew exactly what was "necessary for the security of a free state"! It seems to slip away from us a little each day.

Is that the "official" RRA folding stock unit?

It's an interesting looking thing, how does the lockup feel?

That's what someone else said too. I had ADCO install it and I asked Steve what he thought and he said it was fine the way it is currently. He said he'd fix it but I'd have to pay shipping but if it were his rifle he would of installed it like he did on mine. That guy knows more than I ever will so I trust him, and I don't know if it's worth paying shipping both ways to have him fix it.

Hrmm, that is also counter-intuitive to have the blast directed vertically for many reasons...

Have you sent ADCO a pic? I would PM bigbore on this site.

Yes, this gun is factory besides the magpul add-ons. the folding stock uses a spring and wedge with no button. It locks into place really well without moving or even making any noise. There's no way to accidently fold it in from the locked position while still being effortless to fold.

The folding mech. adds 2" of length, so it could be tougher for short relief optics depending on which stock position you prefer. On the other hand, you can mount your optics further back without any obstruction to the charging handle since it's on the front rail.

It's not installed correctly and they told you that you would have to pay to correct their mistake?

How do you think it looks to have just the stock, the mag, and VFG, in FDE but with the pistol grip in black?

I'm building my new rifle and have an FDE Magpul Stock, FDE PMags, and will be ordering a FDE Tango Down VFG.  The thing is, I already have a black Magpul MIAD grip ready to go.  I don't think that would look bad.. do you?

Also, does anyone know if the Tango Down FDE color matches up well with the Magpul stuff?

The black MIAD will look fine, black goes with everything. Just remember that the only time you will see the grip is when your rifle is sitting around doing nothing so color isn't a big deal.
