I picked the x40 because I was interested in a dedicated hunting rifle, sort of a modern 30-30.

I like the handguard, it's fairly light and trim. Again, this is for hunting, I'm never going to be hanging lasers, BUIS, lights or bayonets so simple seemed the way to go.

I put just enough black in it to offset/compliment the DD FDE (chocolate) rail. I have some FDE mags now so I'll have to take a pic with those, a SF Warden as well. As much as I was trying to get the shades to match I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. After having my SCAR 17 in FDE I've learned to see the beauty in a million shades...
