I guess you could use a TA01B if you were willing to give up the fiber optic illumination for a .308 BDC. |

PK, I keep looking at it but can't tell. Does it have a mid-length gas system?

Yes, they are of midlength gas system design.

Went to the range today, Sighted in the ACOG, using 147gr hand loads, just had some 165gr and 168gr Hornady's come in today, need to see what they will do.

I really do not like the trigger on the 901's I have a Geissele SSA-E on order, this rifle deserves a great trigger.

I just learned some news some og you guys do not want to hear. I am going to tell you everything I know, so no need to ask the same thing over and over or for more info cause I dont have its and dont go off on a tear ass over it either
there are no plans to start making the adapter block and selling it at this time I know thats going to chap some asses. but dont shoot me over it and DO NOT turn this thread into a bitch fest over it. Thats my only favor I ask. of course feel free to start your own thread and complain long and loud if it makes you feel better, but please keep this thread the way it is for info about the 901 not colt CS or imagined slights by the company real or imagined |

That will explain why Colt never got back to me on the question, oh well don't really care since I did not plan on swapping uppers anyway. And the ACOG in question is a TA11E-G 308. So I guess you are going off to the range.

Damn. Why didn't they make this thing a 7.62 only weapon to begin with? Would have negated the need for some of the compromises made to allow for 5.56 compatibility.

I think it's kind of a dumb feature but I could see how it could be a selling point for the military or police. |

I have my reserve set aside for the digi camo or dark earth anodized finish option. |

What....... no conversion adapter. Are you fuc*ing kidding me.
From what I understand each new 901 will now ship with a Colt brand Kool-aid packet . Just add water. For the life of me I cant understand why anyone admits to liking and supporting this company. |

I dont think its up to you to suppress the opinion in a thread on the "disscussion" of the 901.
The 901 is billed as a modular rifle and Colt is not selling the part to make it so. I can be dissapointed and upset and express that in a open thread. Even if you dont like it. |

If I wanted a straight .308 I probably would have bought a m1A. I wanted a shtf platform and this is what this rifle was being billed for due to its advertising. In short I want the corvette with all factory options and upgrades available. I don't mind waiting or paying more, I just want the capability if it's part of the advertised design.

Colt probably looked at the "what could go wrong" part of selling the conversion block and decided it wasn't worth it. It will probably only be available from a third party. I like the rifle as is and look forward to getting one.

I got yelled-at way back early in this thread for speculating that the market for a multi-magwell Colt would be pretty slim.
I hope this no-multi-magwell decision by Colt is an indication that they may be revisiting the particulars of how they are going to configure their "big AR." Getting rid of that overly-complex receiver design should get the price down quite a bit. Like I said before, if Colt could get the price of their .308 model down to the vicinity of the 6940 by making it a big version of the 6940, I think they could sell a lot of these rifles. At current prices, you can pretty much buy two complete 6940's for what people are asking for the 901. Wouldn't it be swell if you could get a 6940/.223 and a 901/.308 for that same money? |

I have to say I was very disappointed to hear of Colt's prevous decision. I had hoped to be able to tuck the SCARS back in the safe and rotate amongst all my Colt uppers at will, with .308 mixed in, as well.. This is probably a short-term deal killer for me, so I will keep my fingers crossed on your update. |

I dont understand this attitude some people act liek they been waiting ten years for the gun to come out and pre paid for it a year ago. How can you get so impatient over something you didnt even know you wanted until you saw it? they made it this long in life without one, a few more weeks or months to wait is not unbearable.
