I just spoke to Colt customer service about ten minutes ago...he stated another batch of 901's shipped to distributors last week. He unfortunately could not provide info on which distros they went to.

Excellent news. I have an order in for mine, they said I'm number 9 on the list, so I'm hoping sooner than later....
|
|
|
Since these aren't in sequential order, anyway to tell which 1 of 100 number 127 is?

Sick! What Leupold scope is that and how's it working on the 901? I'm trying to decide what optic for the 901, before it gets here:-) |

What have you guys been paying for your's?
I was quoted $2099 for a none letter rifle, if I recall I thought msrp was $1800-1900 |

I paid 2045.00 shipped to my FFL. I'm #9 on the list at impact guns. Not sure about the "letter" could actually care less as I plan on shooting the crap out of it.
|
|
|
Damn, you got a deal! :) I PAID A LOT MORE! (2775 shipped) But I get it Friday. And the letter will be conversation for years to come. I too will shoot it a ton. I am glad I paid and got it on the road than missed an opportunity.

I would go with the Mk6 Leupold but i cant afford a 2000 dollar scope right now and the Ss1-6x is basically the same scope as the mk6 but cheaper. |

the trigger on my 901 has one of the best milspec triggers I have ever felt as well. would be considered nice on a sporting rifle
DAG worked OK in the 901 when Postal0311 fired it, do you think its just your lot? |

My 901 has a trigger that I could live with, if I had to, but I don't. I got shipping confirmation from Geissele today that I should have my DMR before the weekend. |

Im not normally a fan of match triggers in fighting rifles. I dont think they are needed for accurate shooting
but for something meant to a DMR type role I am re thinking it and am coming around ( maybe ) even though I think they are not exactly needed. |

I am eager to try an SSA in it. Not DMR light, but cleaner than the stock one. |

I'm not crazy about the 4 position stock. I'd like a five or six poistion.
Is the 308 buffer have the same dimensions as a standard 5.56 carbine buffer? Obviously it is heavier. I'm curious to know if a Vltor A5 system (with heavy buffer) would work with the 308. |

I'm curious to know if a Vltor A5 system (with heavy buffer) would work with the 308. Since it uses a 5.56 M4 receiver extension and the bolt carrier is much longer than a 5.56, the 308 buffer is shorter than a 5.56 buffer. And it is marked 308. Also, a friend gave me a C Products 20 round KAC/DPMS pattern magazine and it will go in the mag well but it is too tight and very hard to get out. Lynn |

Added a few items to the 901, thing is heavy, 12lbs with no ammo in mag. Need a good Sling and a trigger and I'm done. Here are a few pics....

Geissele is looking for feedback on 901 installs I would give them a heads up on the pin lengths. Thanks for the heads up.

The Geissele DMR dropped right in the 901, I just had to use the Colt factory trigger pins. The trigger is really quite incredible. With that said, I may move this trigger to a 6724 and put a Geissele S3G in the 901. While this rifle is more than likely capable of being a precision rig, to me it is first and foremost a battle rifle. |

Do the standard 20LR PMags work in the 901 with no issues? Just curious what the big difference is between them and the Colt "Spec" mags that came with the rifle.

I can see where you're coming from, 'cause I know where you've been and I can see where you're going 'cause I can see the direction you're headed in. I just don't know where the hell you're at right now. |
its a strange relationship
I love to shoot and hunt them, But I would love to have one for a pet. They are so smart. Just an awesome animal. Its why I hunt them, they are so smart. Unless you live in some place like a city or an area where they have never been shot at, getting them with a rifle is a huge challenge. |

Man you are right as rain. Our neighbor had one as a pet growing up, like you said super intelligent. If you want to know how smart they are just drive around the back roads. You'll see all manner of roadkill, I'll bet you'll never see a crow. Come to think of it, I've never gotten a clean shot at one either. Those pics don't help with my wait BTW
Is that a NF 1x4 FC2 Reticle? That's going to my setup as well... |
|
|
1-4xNF suck. That is my 2.5-10x24 Mil/Mil ZS and has the NV settings. Lent it to Shawn and he has been putting it to good use.

I need to get some pics up. Picked mine up yesterday. 140 rounds down the pipe so far. Love it. When people say it has very little recoil, they are not lying. You could shoot this thing from the prone all day long without complaint.
