Wonder how these would run in the 901?
Enidine Buffers Any measurement of the length on the 901 buffer? I run a rifle length in my 3-gun carbine and the gun shoots really soft. |

For those who have purchased production models, do the lowers still have clearance for an RDIAS like the T&E models had?

All standard and non-standard disclaimers apply (i.e. use at your own risk, your mileage may vary, do not stand behind launcher when firing rocket). |
Has anyone changed the safety to the right side of the gun for left-handed use?

One of the T&E guns was number 111, my "production gun" is 113. Only difference seems to be that mine didn't come with the adaptor to run standard uppers. I sure am curious what the price and availability on those will be. |

Is it going to be possible to easily re-profile these barrels to lightweight?

A minor question, but will the 901 receiver accept a rear QD sling plate like the DD or Noveske?
Thanks to all the info so far. It makes a pretty obvious choice to buy that much clearer. |

I've got one on order from Ratworx. The suspense is terrible ;-). Here are my questions:
1) Does it take AR15 trigger parts? Will it accept an AR15 Gieselle trigger? 2) Does it have a mil spec buffer tube? Can I use any carbine spring and carbine size buffer with the AR15 conversion? 3) I've read that it will accept any mil spec upper for the AR15 conversion. Will it accept a Noveske? 4) Will the AR15 conversion take Pmags? 5) When will the AR15 conversion parts be available? |

Yes 3. Yes 4. Yes |

I am a dealer for Gieselle, I spoke with Gieselle and they advised that you should be able to use any of their triggers in the 901, I will be ordering a trigger for my 901 very soon, will advise if everything goes well. Yes the standard trigger on the 901 sucks so this is priority one for me.My 901 did not come with the upper adapter or mag well insert, unknown on when this will become available.

Does the production model come with Colt-specific PMags with the over-insertion tabs? I've read that some T&E rifles did over insert with regular Pmags and other T&E reports that were fine.

Question on naming.
We have seen it referred to as CM901, SP901 , LE901 and LE901-16S . It looks like LE901-16S is what the box says as well as colt mfg website. is that the final designation for the rifle? Anyone have insight on the other names for the rifle and why they faded out? Thanks |

seems like the LE designation is the official one.
I think the CM designation is used for fullauto/.mil version. |

Finally grabbed a 901 off gunbroker during a weak moment. My doctor put a few stitches in my hide so I"ll wait a few days before I try it out. Overall fit and finish is very nice. Marginal trigger is the only thing I can come up with to whine about. On the plus side, itt is as light as my AR10 that only has the plastic hand guard and better balanced. Even with the ACOG on it the wieght is approptiate for .308. Another note, if anyone cares,is that a bayonet will fit on this 16" upper which is not always the case on other Colt 16" inchers i've owned. I was looking for spare mags and the nice people at Magpul say that thier current production .308 mags will work but Colt Spec (2 included with the gun) mags have an over insertion ridge on them. Magpul says I have to get them through Colt. I also can't get any word on how to come by the .223 adapter? Bye the bye, There is a range report on you youtube by a sure fire guy that shows his .223 works fine in semi auto with the .308 buffer. After I find magazines and an adapter I will work on the mystery of why my 1 of 100 first sold 901s has a serial number in the 300 range? All the other ones I've seen pictures of or watched on gunbroker have had 100 range serials. I dont really care, but some how I find myself intrigued by the little batches that Colt produces stuff in. Anyway, I started this post as plea for anyone who comes across a source for spec mags and an adopter to please let us know.

The "first 100 civilian" Colt 901's ranged from #109 to #360ish. Colt does not build rifles in sequential order. I doubt many gun manufacturers do. I am also on the hunt for "Colt Spec" 308 p mags and the adapter. I have yet to be able to acquire either item, or even an estimate on price and availability of either item.

As someone who is also patiently waiting for a 901, and the "adapter", care to recap the locations of these items? I just bought 4 magpul 20's in anticipation for the rifles arrival. Happy days! This will be my 1st .308 Battle rifle. May as well be a Colt!
Thanks in advance! |

Shawn, I don't think this has been covered but what kind of velocities are you getting out of the rifle? The Hornady superformance? Winchester 147gn FMJ? Thanks
