Just curious if anyone has seen any fake PMAGs. If you have, what differences are there? What makes a genuine PMAG an obivously genuine PMAG? Specifically 30 round mags, but info on the others is helpful too!
From my experience, a newer genuine PMAG should have the following:
- PMAG30M with "pat. pending," "Magpul Industries Corp," CAGE code, "Made in the USA," and NSN all near the top of the right side of the mag. Right above that, 5.56x45 icon above it.
- Floorplate should have the Magpul logo and an M with a number below the M.
- Left side of the mag has the same 5.56x45 logo on it.
- Right below the magazine catch hole on the left side of the mag there is a step, followed by M# (Mine are M4, M5, and M6). Mine all have the number 10 in a circle below that. Followed by the months and the arrow (with the year in the middle) that show date of manufacture.
Is all of the above accurate for all genuine PMAGs? What do all of those numbers mean on the left side of the mag? I'm guessing M# is the revision of the M type PMAG. No idea what the 10 in the circle is.
