thought about making something like this for myself.

I've made a couple AIWB rigs for myself. For my shield and Ruger LCR.

For some reason, I can't ever get comfortable carrying appendix. Just pokes me in the wrong places seems like.

Same here.  When I sit its real uncomfortable and jabs me in the pelvic girdle.  I didn't like having to  adjust it constantly so went back to 4 o'clock

I merely meant the strut.

I will never go back to anything other then my first line belt, after carrying appendix. As for the pokes ya'll are talking about I combat that by making my loop slightly wider then my belt but with the hook being long enough to make sure it can't go anywhere. This allows me to rotate the holster slightly when I sit down to about a 1:30-2 o clock position. When I stand up I brush the base of the frame with my forearm/elbow an it rotates the gun back to a 12:00 spot.
I carry a G19 and a M&P FS 9.

Would someone mind critiquing my cart.
I already have a heat gun.
Do I have the right sizes, or everything ?
Am I leaving anything out ?

Your cart looks good. The .093 kydex is not too thick for holsters, but you typically get more definition with .080 or .060. I also didn't notice belt loops, so I assume you're gonna make them. Most people use .125 for mounting loops, but .093 will work. Good luck with your project, and be sure and post pics when you're done

I wanted an INCOG style holster that would allow me to carry my fullsize M&P with my tlr-1 at 3 to 4 o'clock on my waist. This is what I cooked up. Came out better than I hoped. This .06 kydex but I plan to make one in .08 with a higher sweat guard and with .125 struts.

Did you use 0.060" for the struts?  Those will not last...

Did you know that you can buy injection molded struts and spacers?

any tips on how you cut the front tab and lay it flat?
Link Posted: 12/3/2013 2:41:18 PM EDT
[#9]
I haven't done one like this but my guess would be a cut off wheel and then heat up that section slightly to lay it flat.
Link Posted: 12/3/2013 3:42:25 PM EDT
[Last Edit: lostman518] [#10]
I'm definitely going to press one in .08 thickness. I only made this in
.06 to see if I liked the style. Which I do. Also I didn't want to waste
any .125 on the struts if I didn't like how the holster sat on my waist
so I made them out of .06 as well. The front strut is about an inch longer
to give it some forward cant.
I made the cut on the front with a razor blade then hit the front
section with a heat gun and laid it flat. I've worn it all day at work,
mostly seated and it's barely noticeable. The stippling I did on the
grip is actually annoying me more. It doesn't move at all when walking
around.

I really hate making this style with the cut. People like it tho ( I hate wearing it personally lol) I leave the loops long so people can get full adjustment then cut the loops once they find a ride height they like.
I am almost caught up, waiting on a blue gun for one order and a  sheet of OD for another (ruined the last piece I had by talking to a buddy while I had it in the over...) hoping both will be here tomorrow.

Yes my bench is a constant disaster.

No, wouldn't want to risk cracking the screen. Filled the case with a 2 part resin to act as the phone.

Been awhile since I posted any holsters. Haven't done anything out if the norm lately. I did recently get an order for a custom order from a guy that is into IDPA.

He wanted all the bells and whistles and ask if I could make it "look fast". I wasn't sure what he ment by that and after a phone call he explained he wanted the outline to match the cant angle. I normally run the bottom edge of my holsters flat with a more squared off design. I didn't think this was going to turn out but it sure did and the holster doesn't cover up any pockets when worn at the 3:30/4:00 o'clock position.

Anyone willing to make me a triple Gen2 Pmag holster?  I just don't want to try to buy everything needed & DIY & would rather let someone who's been doing it & has experience & all of the proper tools to put out a nice product.

I need a triple Pmag holster with the kydex measuring 11" long x 5" tall

Here are some pics for some ideas, I think this can be done with a single piece of roughly 25" long by 5 1/2 tall (overshot to accommodate for the retention areas & the 3Ding of the magazine) with a single bend & then retention screws between all 3 mags for adjustments & retention.

Anyone willing to take on the project?  I've been trying to get this particular piece made for quite some time now & hoping an ARFcommer can handle it.

Thanks.

Main Concept:

What backside could/will look like with BladeTek MOLLE LOKS, I originally thought the back as a separate piece, but I think bending & molding it out of a single 25" piece is a better idea.

I actually had these taller ones specially built after shorter ones didn't work for me. They were just too floppy on my vest. Now I use large MOLLE loks and secure them edge to edge and it is such a significant difference in retention & locking the gear down tight.

Here's the back of the 1st base plate I made for the start of v.3.0, but now want it made in a single.  I can run the large Molle like through 3 rows of webbing:

You can see the difference in height from the from v.1.0 made by blade tech and seem to be a little thicker/stronger kydex & v.2.0 made by a fellow ARFcommer (who no longer makes kydex stuff, hence me coming to this thread)

v.3.0 is now a concept of a single piece with 1 bend & retention screws between each mag and the Molle lok attached directly on it. Least amount of material keeping it as light, low profile & secure as possible.

And I really prefer kydex over cloth/nylon gear for the snap & lock ability.

And this must fit in an 11" length because that is totsl width of the Molle webbing I have on front of vest.

v.1.0 & v.2.0 were both double mag setup a for a total of 4. Now I have a new/different vest and only can fit 3 across and want to run singles vs doubles to keep weight down and much more slimline.  1 in gun +3 on vest

make a press. how much compression should i need from the foam? im using 1" foam from knifekits. so how far apart should the upper and lower pieces of wood be that the foam attaches to?

this is my plan from top to bottom:
3/4" mdf
1" foam
1" foam
3/4" mdf

should there be 2"s of space between top and bottom where the foam is or less?

Speaking of firsts tonight I just recycled the first piece of kydex I ever put into an oven well over a year ago. I over heated it, it shrunk and folded. Tonight I heated it, flattened it and made a dual mag holder.

Here is my first complete holster made the same night as I thought I ruined that piece of gray kydex. I could've done worse.
