Looks like CBRMikes is a wrap around taco style that was blocked out for some sort of mounting system. The giant trapezoid has the mounting loops through the eyelets which is common for 2-piece sandwich build. The down side is it tends to be very wide as you see. The upside is that it distributes weight well. If curved right it can be a little more stable.

Went through a few pieces of kydex to get something I really like that works well. Then took a few more hours building the jigs to make this repeatable. Below was the last of the prototypes. Holds shells in firmly. You can shake it upside down, within reason, and it still holds them in place, but still easy to draw shells out.

Thoughts?

I gave this guy a new holster made from .080 BTW.

did the same. I have the same setup but with two 6 shot caddies coupled together, a single 6 shot and a 4 shot. Getting the "tongue" tension set right was a bit of trail and error the first few times but they work great.

looks nifty

I have plans drawn up for a wallet.... but I haven't done it yet because I'm worried it will scratch the back of my cards up.

It will be stellar if I ever get time to do it.  I still need to make 2 holsters for my self after if I get a break in orders.

Sorry for the delay. Chainsaw1 nailed it. The next one I make for a buddy will probably have it trimmed up as seen below. I will trim my up as well.

I made a little kydex piece like that to mount on my goggles and hold my phone for video. Kinda redneck go pro.

It's not as nice as that though.

There's a few changes I would make on a project like this. First is the have more (taller) material at the cylinder. Keeping the belt attachment where it is (lower than the top center) will allow you to flare out around the cylinder area which make for much easier reholstering. Also, I would block out the sight channel. Right now with the rivets so far out there is a good amount of flex that probably doesn't hang up too much on the sight. Bring the eyelets closer in and that area will tighten up a lot. Finally(?), I would make sure that you provide some sort of drainage hole at  the bottom, but not totally expose the muzzle. Kind of what I do on most of the holster I do. Also check out my Special Projects page. I did a Ruger SIngle Ten holster for a customer. Smaller scale, but show some of the concepts.

I wanted a way to carry around my CAT without having it shift around in my pocket, so I got creative with some kydex and shock cord. Let me know what you guys think.

The last 2 holsters with the CF Holstex stuff I've had some weird issues.  It's like a smudgy texture and it seems more prone to scratching too.  Also instead of crisp lines of definition, I'm getting more of a bubble look.  What could be causing this?  Too much pressure?  Too long in the oven I heat it?  Maybe just a bad sheet of holstex?  Or possibly my foam is on its last leg?

It was hard to get it to show up in my phone but it's pretty obvious in person.

Here is a comparison of the definition and surface texture I was getting before.

I barely have eyesight built into my eyeball lol.

Could I be using the wrong side?  It has a shiny side and a more porous side and I remember Knifekits sending a paper that said to be sure to use the correct side, but I forgot which one that it.

I like the red ones. It has a nice balance with the carbon fiber finish. Black just disappears and the light gets too much visual attention, and not in a good way. But, that's just an opinion.
