I just had my formal PEB this past weekend it went well other than my unit not sending my medical records up to them. My unit said they didn't know they needed to send them. I've tried to release my records to my attorney who is handling my case with the PEB but the corpsman said he wouldn't release them to anyone other then military. I tried releasing them through a DD2870. The corpsman said he would talk to who ever's information I provide from the PEB come Monday. Inconvenient but not a problem. Friday night I just found out my unit is going to give me a honorable discharge before the PEB makes their decision. Does that sound right? Another concern I have is that I am still being treated for another problem that is possibly unrelated to the reason I requested a PEB.

I've had a lot of problems with my unit not following protocol in the past so I am hesitant to just go along with what they say. If anyone has any knowledge or insight that could help me regarding this situation I would very much appreciate it.

A PEB takes presedence over a regular discharge, even if you have to extend, unless you did something illegal.

A Corpsman can tell you to change your socks but not about a formal PEB or the MEB process.   Isn't there the PEB office that should be handling your case?
