So I got a call this morning from the Durham VA asking me if I had went to an appointment over the summer. After I get off the phone, my wife told me I told them the wrong information. So I called them back, eventually get connected to the call center and that's where things went from ok to freaking g horrible
The lady that answered immediately had an attitude like I had disrupted her from doing something more important than her job. She was rude from the get go, I was trying to keep my cool and asked if I could speak to a supervisor because she didn't understand what I was trying to tell her. She said she was trying to help me, and started raising her voice and getting even ruder. I told her there was no need for the attitude and again asked to speak to a supervisor. At that point she told me "you don't even know me!" And hung up on me......
So at that point, needless to say I was pissed. So I called back again, again got the call center again, and guess who I got again. She immediately started her verbal attack again, saying she was trying to help me and I wasn't listening to her. I again asked to speak to a supervisor, but got told I needed to quit interrupting her. I was starting to lose my cool, and told the lady she wasn't going to speak to me in such a way and again asked to speak to a supervisor. She said she wouldn't cause I couldn't give them the info they needed. At wish point I was fed up and disconnected, but I did wish her a Merry F* Christmas (only curse word that I used)
I was highly upset. I've got a call into my OEF counselor to report the issue, and even called their 24/7 # @ the Durham VA where the lady there was extremely pleasant and very nice. Gave me all the information I needed. Then I realized I didn't have the lady's name who was so rude, so called back again and got Daryl who told me her name was Jones (no apology offered or given on their part). I told Daryl.to tell her I was sorry for cursing and hung up.
Already have a call into the patient advocate for the Durham VA and am definitely calling the Inspector General tomorrow. Who else can I get involved so this doesn't happen to anyone else?
