Got out three years ago, returned from Afghanistan several months before separation so the AF MPF never did add Afghan campaign or the NATO whatever the hell medal to my DD 214.  Didn't really bother me because I didn't ever see a reason to need to prove I went there with official documents.

I still have official medal presentation certificates, as well as official travel orders and such.  It is possible or worthwhile for a civilian to try and get this fixed?  Probably missing an AF achievement from that deployment as well but I don't really care.

Now for all those omissions from my records, they included an "Airman of the Year Award" or something that I did not earn; let alone was ever in the running for.  MPF works in mysterious ways.

This.

Having that campaign medal and associated dates on your official DD214/DD215 will mean more down the road than orders to the AOR.
