I'm preparing my 3355 for SSG right now and I'm confused... and no one seems to be able to provide me a solid answer, not even 600-8-19.

Under the military training portion, what is the difference between "Professional Mil Education" and "Resident Mil Trng"? Is it just NCOES vs. all other training? If that's the case, then you'd really only be able to put one course under the "Professional Mil Ed" block, that being the NCOES course for the next grade, correct?

Also, I have several CoA's from O-5's from other services. Are those good to go? I also have a DA87 signed by a civilian, but with an accompanying Certificate of Completion signed by an O-8. Can I use those for points?

Thanks for any help. I'll be asking S1 tomorrow but I don't expect much help from them.

OK, I think I found my answer. I would prefer an ALARACT or MILPER, but a random military related website and poorly worded sentences will have to work...

"When competing for selection to SSG: WLC graduates will receive no promotion points.  ALC graduates will receive 90
promotion points. If recognized as having achieved commandant’s list, they will receive 101 promotion points.  In order to
receive the maximum points of 112 in this category the Soldier must have achieved Distinguished Honor Graduate status or
be identified as the Distinguished Leadership Graduate."

I looked at the "Professional Mil Ed" block and it does indeed max at 112.
