Wtf , I thought this kind of shit was illegal. North or South a soldier deserves a soldiers funereal. Any American that has put his life on the line deserves that respect. I'm not surprised in the least that our shit bag government hasn't stepped in and retrieved the soldier though.

They have.  The NPS at Gettysburg have accepted the remains and will burying them there in some suitable fashion
