I've been out for 4 years, and I ran into a former E4 who was in my platoon. I haven't seen him since I got out, and he's out now too. I put him in for his CIB long ago, but apparently it got lost at our BN S4. He told me that he never got it. We got blown up together, and in fights together. I got pretty pissed off when he told me about that. Found out that it happened to someone else too. So my question is, since I still have all the documentation for me when all that happened, and his name is in a sworn statement from that incident, can I put in his packet and send it off so he can get what he earned???

I just don't know where to send the stuff. I heard send it straight to the DoD.

Not sure about how the Army works, maybe the Board of Military Corrections or get in contact with your old unit. Whatever you do make copies...sounds like you already did.

Google/Bing, whatever you use, for ABCMR (Army Board for Correction of Military Records).  Their site has the pamphlet and all the forms you need to fill out and send to them.  Specific as possible for dates, locations and unit info.

This is relevant. I had to write CAB packets three different times due to incompetent s1 types in AFG and some of my troops are close to ets'ing.
