First off thank you for your time and service. I apologize if this is the incorrect forum for this.

I am thinking of joining the Army reserves and have a questions. Let me start by telling you about me. I'm a 33 year old male in decent shape, could lose 10lbs. I have no prior military experience, but have worked as a LEO and am a member of our SWAT team so I'm accustomed to PT. I'm older now and not quite the door kicker I was 10 years ago, so I'm thinking of going for Intelligence either 35f 35g or 35m. I'm about half way (60 credit hours) through my bachelors degree in CJ right now (still going) and have maintained a 4.0 average, so I'm not worried about my ASVAB score.

I think the only issue for me could be my tattoos, I have a full sleeve on my left arm (not on my hands) and half sleeve on my right. I've been told because of my college hours and background it shouldn't be an issue to get a waiver, but I've also heard waivers are next to impossible to get now. Figured someone here could square me away before I waste a recruiters time.

Again thank you for your time.

As long as you don't have them on your hands or neck you are good to go right now. The regs haven't been changed as of yet for forearms/sleeves etc. Go on down to your local Army Recruiting Center and check them out. If you have any questions after the visit or for before you go feel free to ask. I've been a Recruiter for Active and Reserve for 3yrs, 5mos, and 14days; I'm ready to GTFO and go one to another job at this point. That being said, I don't hate my job and I'll answer any question you all have.

All can be covered by uniforms. We use The same uniforms for SWAT and nothing shows under them only w/ short sleeves. I can't show them at work either unless I'm working narc, UC, or as voluntold by the command staff. I'll go by and speak with one in the next week or two and let you know if I have any questions. Thank you.

No worries man, hopefully it works out. The USAR could benefit from mid-career professionals making the jump instead of 18yr old kids wanting college money all the time. Maturity is sorely lacking in all Branches and Components right now Military wide.

Lol ya if Tats is your biggest issue, the army will take you.  Getting into intel will not be hard.

Im a 35G (in case my username wasnt clue enough) and we had people DEALING DRUGS with a TS SCI security clearance...  Nobody is gonna care about a few tattoos if you are an ex cop and have a clean record.
