What is authorized?
Army Good Conduct?
Army Achievement Medal?
Army Commendation Medal?
NCOPD?
Meritorious Unit Citation?
etc

Look up the BUPERS Uniform Regulations.

I did somewhat the reverse... USMC, then USNR to NG. All personal awards were allowed as issued. Meaning my "didn't get caught" USMC Good Conduct was worn and not replaced by a Army GCM. When I did get a similar Army award, it was placed in order with my USMC/USNR but did not replace them either. I did have a Unit citation that was worn right sided on the Army but would have been left sided USMC. I was in the unit when it was awarded.

Only awards that I know of that do not transfer were NG specific ones, usually awarded by the state.

As always, check the regs though.

I was just reading on the net the other day that a CIB(and possibly the CAB) can be transferred to a Combat Action Ribbon. Just incase you have one of them, since those cannot be worn on USN/USMC uniforms.

Correct. You can apply for those to convert to a CAR.  Most of the awards transfer over.  There are a couple websites with overlapping regs, start at awards.navy.mil

The Navy Personnel Command has a GREAT website with a TON of info.  (No CAC required)

http://www.public.navy.mil/BUPERS-NPC/SUPPORT/UNIFORMS/Pages/default2.aspx

I clicked on the uniform regs part before I pasted the link.  Chapter 5 Section 3 gives all the rules for awards.

5301.  AWARDS (GENERAL PROVISIONS)

    1.  Authorized Navy Awards.  Those awards described in the Navy and Marine Corps Awards Manual (SECNAVINST 1650.1 Series) are authorized for wear by "U.S. Naval" personnel. Wear them on designated uniforms in the following manner.

    2.  Awards From Other Services.  Naval personnel who have received awards from other military services or departments of the United States Government, foreign governments, or other agencies, may wear such awards on the naval uniform only as described in this section.

5304.  PRECEDENCE OF AWARDS

    1.  General.  Awards issued to naval personnel are listed in this section in order of precedence. <(Awards Precedence Chart)> Awards received for service performed while attached to units of the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, which are not included in this section, but which are equivalent to Navy awards listed here, may be worn in the order specified by the respective military service subject to the following:

         a.  In all cases of relative priority Navy awards shall take precedence.

         b.  Awards for a war, campaign, expedition, etc., shall be worn as campaign and service awards.

         c.  Only those badges listed in <article 5310> may be worn on naval uniforms.

         d.  Refer to SECNAVINST 1650.1 Series concerning precedence of Marine Corps awards.

I went the other way - Navy to Army.   I wore everthing from my Navy time which meant that I had both a Navy & Army good conduct ribbons.  I also had a marksmanship ribbon which was worn in addition to my Expert marksmanship badge.  I wore my Navy Air Crew Wings just below my CIB and my jump wings on the pocket flap.
