2007 was just a shitty season for Alonso, and to a lesser extent Hamm... Their team was cheating, R. Dennis was showing blatant favoritism, and by Hungary Alonso had just snapped. For those that were not into F1 in those days: http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2007/10/30/f1-07-review-hamilton-vs-alonso/ 2005 (one set of tires a weekend? REALLY? plus the whole six cars on track thing at Indy, the only American race) and 2007 (see above) were the two of the worst years in F1, since I started watching it in '91. Yeah, it was BS because Hamilton never got penalized for blocking Alonso earlier in qual. That may have cost Alonso the WDC too because he started from the back as a result and still finished 4th or 5th. I hated the 2005 rules, it just goes to show how arbitrary the FIA is with their stupid pit stop rules. First no changing tires, only refuel, now no refueling, only changing tires. The only reason we have pit stops now is because the tires are mandated to artificially degrade quicker. I enjoyed 2007, Alonso actually had the fastest car for once but it didn't help with Dennis was favoring Hamilton the whole time. |

I was just amazed and appalled with how Dennis treated a two-time (and reigning at the time) world champion, who was the only one on the grid with the skill to beat Schumacher in his prime in an even race. I remember cheering when the gauntlet came down on Dennis and he had to step aside, but he should have gotten a lifetime ban like Flavio did, since realistically, what McLaren did was more damaging to the sport than that crash in Singapore. |

View Quote I agree, although Falvios lifetime ban was redacted, they reached a deal behind closed doors. And Alonso is a joy to watch, him alone is worth watching an F1 race. I remember him blocking Schumi for the last 5-10 laps at Imola in 2005. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, I think I was cheering in Spanish by the end. Alonso has had poor luck since 2006. If you look at 2007, 2010 and 2012, it weren't for a penalty and a couple crashes, he could easily be a 5 time WDC right now. I will remember him as one of the all time greats. He seemed to enjoy starting the 24 hr of Le Mans too. |

Totally agree with you. I was disapointed. It's a shame that dany attacked Vale in the pre last lap... The gap it created allowed Marquez to free himself... Otherwise I'm pretty vale would have fought Marquez in the last lap. Vale is much better than Dani at 1 vs 1 knife fights ! Remember how Valentina beat Jorge in Barcelona at the last corner ? The problem is that Marquez don't give a fuck about other drivers.. He just jumps in and it's the other pilots business to avoid collision. Remember how much shit the Spaniards gave to the poor Sic (Simoncelli) for his aggressiveness on track ? Well, Marquez does some nastier shit and gets always with it. Ps: I'm not saying Marquez doesn't deserve the win, he is clearly the best. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Just like I'm still a Valentino Rossi fan and it was a real bummer to see him lead Sunday's MotoGP race for almost the entire race and end-up with 2nd place. Glad to see that "the old man" can still hang with the young dogs at the front of the pack though. Marquez is just such a fearless, crazy, skilled little bastard. Just like Rossi before him... Yeah, I get tired of Marq winning so much (like I'm tired of Hamilton), but I'll give the little turd credit... he's an awesome rider! And it's hard not to like him a little bit for that big ole smile on his face. I've never really cared for Pedro (though I don't dislike him per se). I've been a Rossi fan since the first time I saw him in MGP (didn't really notice him in the smaller classes). |

LMAO and people call NASCAR the WWE of racing. This is getting idiotic. Dear FIA, youve completely lost your fucking minds.
http://jalopnik.com/f1-wants-to-add-sparks-like-the-80s-1593421545/all It was revealed earlier this year that F1 teams were looking at ways to make cars more spectacular, considering ideas including sparking cars, glowing brake discs and vapor trails. Discussions about the ideas have moved forward, and teams and other representatives on the F1 Commission have given provisional approval for the sparks plan to come into force for 2015. F1 fans have officially lost ANY right to complain about NASCAR. |

Alonso deserves at least another WDC, and I don't care what team it's with. Hell, he's the only driver I know of that could easily walk into another team and have a seat if he asked.. considering his skill level and the backing he gets from Santander. He's gotta be tired of Ferrari and their steady slump to the midfield.. maybe he could go work for Merc when they get tired of Hamilton? |

Massa is a distinctly average driver that has a streak of brilliance once in a while, he was sitting down in 7th and 8th place most of the time when Alonso was getting podiums and/or wins.. That smells like midfield to me... Average driver in average car in the middle of the pack. I like Seb and think he's a great kid and and damn good driver, but lets be honest here, if Alonso had been in the garage slot next to him instead of Webber (another likeable example of mediocrity), I think Alonso would be a six time world champion. He's one of the best drivers I've ever seen, but he has some MONUMENTALLY bad luck. I would not want to be on a cruise ship or airplane with him, as it seems Murphy likes to kick his ass on a regular basis. |
