I hate the fact that the fascist in Europe banned tobacco advertising (apparently alcohol is okay though), would like to see this again:

I wish that was official, but it's a mock-up done in the video game Forza 5 that has been cropped. It isn't a 2014 car. Here's the full picture and a few more. It looks stunning.

as far as tobacco advertising, I have to agree that the tobacco cars looked great. The Marlboro McLarens and Ferraris were just classically beautiful.

seems to me that the first fascism toward tobacco started all in the USA with insane lawsuits....

I hope they continue covered of FP1 throughout the season, sometimes they miss good stuff like Rossi's FP1 in Texas.  I like the commentators but I wish they'd provide more analysis, I like Martin Brundle.

Ron Dennis throws Martin Whitmarsh under the bus.

Dennis moved into a non-executive role as chairman last year but regained executive status in January, installing himself as chief executive officer of the McLaren Group and taking responsibility for the F1 team for the first time since March 2009.

"The company was a little unfit, it needs to get fit and there is pain to getting fit," said Dennis, in his first news conference since staging the internal coup.  "If everyone matches my passion, commitment and focus, we will most definitely win."

"Hopefully everybody has got the right mindset to understand what we expect of each other and what I expect of them.  You've got to give people time to understand what's expected of them and if they don't get there, they won't be with the company."

Under Whitmarsh, Dennis believed the team had become "distracted" from its core focus of success in F1.

He would bend over backwards to help you if you asked, he did everything he could to build a company so that his employees could choose to retire from there if they wished. He would take us out and throw alcohol down our throats on a Thursday night but God help you if you weren't anything but 110% on the ball the next day...

I know Steve, he worked for Benetton at the same time I was with McLaren, he has done well and it seems as though people like him and his perspective. Steve has many more years ahead of him and that is a very tough industry to walk into, I think I'll just stay on the sidelines and enjoy my beer.

Nah, there'd be 87 different opinions on the race, and it would devolve into one big call out thread.

And there's the rub. My input would not only be based on fact nor experience, it would also, as it does now, contain a good dose of my own opinion.

If I were to remotely entertain a sideline job in addition to my day job I doubt there is a spare minute available to do it justice.

As it is, between Monday and Friday and if it is a very normal day when I am at headquarters, I am at work at 7AM. If nothing untoward happens, and without issues arising, I leave for home at 7:30PM. Invariably I have to call into the store on the way home for last minute dinner things. We eat at around 9PM, spend a little time trying to catch up on each others goings on as husbands and wives do then head to bed around 11:30. It is obvious that going to races means that I work a lot of weekends, I also work weekends as a matter of course when I am not traveling so it doesn't take a genius to realize that anything I do outside of my commitment to my job and my wife leaves very little time for, well, anything.

I spent much of my younger years working a shit ton of hours going racing, I always imagined that I would be able to slow down later in life. The reality is that very rarely can you expect this to happen in my industry, slow down and you are history.
