@rabidus No. They growl came from up above in the trees. I don't live there anymore, but yes I walked down that street many times after & never heard or saw anything again.

Allegedly fake, but still a very compelling sad story if true.

That guy has a great channel, but I watched that video shortly after he first posted it, and did some poking around on the Internet to try and learn more.

Bottom line - there is no evidence that supports that story ever happened, whatsoever.

Couple of the stories that really struck out for me are -

The one about the 3 friends that go into a cave and one of the guys freaks out and tries dragging the others into a door they knock him out and take off and later one of the friends calls the crazy guy and he answers and he just hangs up.

The one about some MMA guy and his brother traveling through the desert at night and they stop at the only gas station for miles to use the restroom and the guy behind the counter gives him a bad look and as hes walking to this shed type outhouse he possibly hears something then gets the feeling that if he goes in there, he'll be fighting for his life.

And of course the one with the guy at the rest stop with his dogs and some crazy guy comes out from nowhere and starts trippin on him then once he sees the OP packin he runs off.

F'in love this thread.

I have heard stories about "the dark side of Disneyworld" and I think you can find a Youtube video or two about it.

"Dark side" = things that have gone on in the park that, well, Disney would rather you don't know about.

Try Googling "creepy Disney stories". I don't know if it's Disney Land or Disney World, but there seems to be a lot of weird stories surrounding the "It's A Small World" ride. But I think they mostly came from /r/nosleep on Reddit. Which is a fictional writing sub. Still some good reads there, though.

However, i've heard many people say that Haunted Mansion at Disneyworld is haunted.

That means nothing, I was just watching a video where a toddler was running away from its own shadow... then it relaxed thinking it had got away, then looked down and the shadow was still there so toddler fell over...

Was it a little black kid? If so, I saw that one. Cracked me up.

This one's also weird. Can't see anything, but it seems the kids are genuinely scared of something.

Well, I'm happy to say it's been all quiet on the creepy front for me the last year or so.

Old story from when I was barely out of high school and had my first apartment with roommates.  One of them was a coworker who turned out to be wiccan or pagan or something.  Can't really remember and I haven't seen her in years.  The building we were in was creepy as fuck for a good handful of reasons.  The bedroom wall would get scratching noises randomly for a couple minutes here and there at night, except it was 15+ feet up in the air.  Occasionally you'd find it hard to breathe in the shower, the tub would randomly start and stop, and there were large (and I mean large) water stains on the ceiling, among other things.  Anyhow, we did odd jobs for the landlord for a break on rent.  This was probably July 2004 I'd think, so the weather was in the mid 70's or so.

Anyhow, the landlord (slumlord to be blunt) wanted the apartment above us cleaned out and we'd get a decent chunk taken off of rent, so why not.  Turns out the apartment had been locked up for at least a year since "something" had happened, and they wanted it to be able to rent again.  Despite my shitty memory and all the associated issues from my medical problems, this memory (along with a few others) are just burned into my mind under 'WTF.'  Open the apartment and the first thing you see is garbage bags of stuff, a recliner, tv, and oddly enough around 6-8" below the ceiling is a shelf that wraps around every wall.  Any and every possible space on the shelf is filled with Furbies.  At least 2-3 of them turned on when we entered the apartment.  Fuck if I know if they are motion triggered or what, but it was fucking creepy.  Btw, power was still on.

Picture a large C shape for the apartment.  Entrance, living room, and kitchen are 2/3 of the shape, wth the top being the bedroom and bathroom.  Stepping into the bedroom, there was luggage, more bags, clothes, and stacks of paperwork everywhere with the bed in the middle of the chaos and small shelves on the walls.  Almost as if they were in the middle of packing in a hurry when something stopped them.  After a step or two, it was like I was on autopilot and just watching things happen.  Step around a black garbage bag of clothes to the right of the door, over a small stack of books, hook a left next to the bed so I'm facing the back wall of the bedroom with the bathroom door to my right.  Big stack of binders, folders, and paperwork directly in front of me.  Pick up 4 binders and put them on the bed, pull the 7th folder out of the stack and flip to page 13, read midway down.

Next thing I know I'm in the parking lot with my roommates looking at me and asking if I'm okay.  I'm shaking and freezing cold in the middle of a clear skied summer afternoon.  Somehow or another I ended up with a diamond necklace in my hand and I'll never forget the name Charity Hamilton.  We (because fuck going in there on my own) went back just to put the damn necklace back from wherever it came from.  Which apparently was on a dust covered shelf on the far other side of the bed that nobody saw me get anywhere near, but you could tell from the outline of where it was.  Supposedly at least.  I don't remember putting it back either, but I apparently took a lot of care in putting it back exactly how it was previously.

According to the roommates (and to be blunt, I've never bothered to look it up as I don't want an answer to this) it turned out that a year and a half prior, there was a (I think) triple murder upstairs.  A lady had run off with her girlfriend and brought her daughter with.  Pissed off husband found out where they went and killed them, finishing by strangling the daughter (Charity, per her school notes in that folder) in the bathtub.

Things didn't end well with those roommates, but a while after we parted ways things were worked out.  For years I (and my then girlfriend, soon to be fiance, and currently several year out of my life ex) would see a small girl (probably in the 10 year old range) wearing a sundress with pitch black eyes on occasion.  When I had my own apartment ~400 miles away, I had two vivid nightmares of getting drowned in an elevator while she watched, or smothering me with a pillow.  Creepily enough, both of those also had my apartment door wide open when I woke up, despite being locked, deadbolted, and chained when I went to bed.  3rd floor balcony apartment, but that was kept locked too.

I'm pretty sure she was the same little girl that scared the shit out of our pets in our house a few years later.  I'd literally watched 'Bitch' and other things raise up as scratches on my ex's back while we were in the shower in that house.  Hell, both of us mentioned that even if we were 100% sure we were alone in the house while the other was at work, we'd hear our opposites voice calling to us from the utility room where we saw her 99% of the time.  It got to the point that the pets wouldn't leave the same room we were in, the bedroom doors were always locked, we never went anywhere on our own in the house, etc.  Let alone all the other crazy shit that happened there even with lots of witnesses.  Oddly enough, the stories that I've wanted to tell for years but always got a 'you're in deep fucking shit if you talk' feeling have all essentially faded from my memory.

To be blunt, I don't miss that house in the least.  I know my ex's mother built it by hand and swore she never heard or saw anything, but she had a strange fascination for stuff she swore didn't exist like ghosts and the paranormal.  No sightings of 'Creepy McOhgodwhy' since we sold that place, so that's a win IMO.  Hell, since I seperated from the ex things have been largely on the very quiet side of things and I'm not going to complain about it.  Add in the anticonvulsant meds for an apparently (until last year or so) undiagnosed seizure condition, treatment of a brain tumor that had been slowly growing since (estimated) I was in high school, and my life has been fairly boring.  My health still sucks and I'm working on that, but I'll happily write off a lot of the pants shitting terror as issues stemming from my brain misfiring on all cylinders instead of the fabric of reality being fucked up.

I can hope at least.  I'll even hope for a boring an uneventful rest of my life.  I think I've had enough chaos in my 33 years.

Story 1 of 2.

The house I grew up in had a small, maybe 10 acre parcel of woods behind it. It wasn't our property, but I used to roam around on it. Myself and friends built tree forts, played paintball and just generally hung out back there. Never had any trouble. I knew this piece of woods like the back of my hand.

It was generally very wet back there most of the year. I was around 12 or 13 and walked the main trail back into there for some reason. Just a little ways in I remember hearing grunting, almost like a pig up ahead. This is in southern MI. No wild pigs, no bears here. Nothing that would make this sound. I slowed down my walk and started stalking towards the noise. I got to within 15 yards or so and the noise continued. The grass was waist high on me and there was a small sapling in the middle of it. All of a sudden it must have been made aware of my presence. Either smelled or saw me I'd guess. All hell broke loose and I can still see that sapling shaking. Like something big ran into it then started towards me. I tore ass out of there and ran back to my house. The whole scene reminds me of some Jurassic Park shit.

Told a couple friends from the neighborhood about it and we went back the next day. No tracks or sign of anything because of the standing water. I never figured it out or encountered it again. I sure would like to know what that was. I can usually find a way to explain most anything I come across in the woods. Except this.

Story 2 of 2.

I was up fishing in a remote stretch of a river, just a couple springs ago. Remote is subjective but this is pretty out there for Michigan standards. I'm maybe a mile by river from the truck and probably at least a half mile from the nearest road. I keep hearing this wierd noise, almost like an air compressor. It's not very far away. It kicks on and off about every 5 minutes.

Im fishing a hole for trout and get this feeling something is watching. Looking around, there is no one or thing there. I'm far enough away that there is no trail along the river like the first part that I fished. There is a light coat of snow, but mine were the only ones back here since that snow came. I work my way down the river a bit more and then a deer pops up and runs off. I figured that is what I felt watching me. Except the feeling never goes away. After a bit I decide to go back to the truck.

I get to a point where I can bypass a point on the river and pick up my old trail. As I'm in the middle of the point I look down and there is a set of people tracks in the snow. Fresh too. They were in a direction that was originally following me from where I just was. Except I never saw another person. I would have if they were there and just fishing or hiking. It's fairly open for being in the woods.

I keep moving and pick up my old trail and the more beaten down path that is always there. Those set of tracks stayed 20 feet or so off the side of that trail for a good while. Only in the direction in which I was originally headed. Got back in the parking area and my truck is the only truck there and had been all morning. Only my tracks in the snow coming in.

Why some one would follow me back there I'll never know. Maybe that compressor noise I heard was some sort of grow or meth lab deal, IDK. I checked on Google maps later and there are no houses, structures or anything of the sort for quite a ways in that area. I usually carried while fishing, and was then. But I always do now.

Do you have Armadillos there? They grunt a lot and are notorious for running into stuff when they are spooked because of poor eyesight.

Nope no dillos in MI that I'm aware of. The rational part of me says pig, the irrational part knows it was a Sasquatch.

Domestic hogs can turn feral and vicious (especially a sow with piglets) in a short amount of time when they escape captivity.

A hog, either wild, or feral, is my first "guess".

My second guess is a sick raccoon.  They are irrational and may become aggressive when they're rabid. They also are capable of vocalizing snorts, snarls, and all sorts of other noises.

I'm in West-Central Ohio and ODNR says there are wild hogs in my area, though I've never seen one.  A deer hunter killed one a few years ago here.

Yes on the raccoon.
I am in WC Ohio as well. There have been wild hogs near Middleburg/East Liberty, but they were determined to be 2nd generation feral farm hogs, not Sus Scrofa.
My understanding, anyway.

There are no Armadillos in "it's winter six months out of the year" Michigan, no.

They are warm climate critters.

A late friend told me that his townhouse was haunted, that he'd seen spirits or heard some really weird shit. I asked how could it be haunted? he'd bought it new. He suggested that perhaps some things had happened on the farm that had once stood where his subdivision was built.

One night about 40 years ago after we'd been sitting around bullshitting and drinking some of his home brew and scotch for a few hours I saw what looked like, as best I can describe it a small dog sized furry ball kinda skip down from the second floor of his townhouse run/roll between us and enter his kitchen area and run/roll through and around the legs of his dining table and chairs. (I know, that's a lot of ands) This ball or dog or whatever then rounded the corner and rolled into the kitchen it didn't make a sound. He smiled at me and asked if I had seen it. I said I had, he said don't worry it's not the scotch and beers we we'd been drinking it just happens now and again. He said you ought to be around some time when the kid cries. What kid? I asked. He told me that from time to time he heard a little boy or girl crying in his living room. He thought that maybe some kid sometime in the past got lost in the field. I could put it down as the drinks, but I saw it one other time while I hadn't been drinking

I grew up about a mile from his subdivision, and there had been a farm where his townhouse had been built. Prior to development the farm house had sat abandoned for quite a few years before it was subdivided. One of the local FDs had used the house for practice to clear the way for the development.
